Re: does everyone know

It will help hold the rod that supports the hood when its not supporting the hood. Or you could drill the rivets out and screw it to the metal support that used to hold the plastic intake.
When you really need a cold air intake is when the car is not moving, lets say at a red light, the old plas...

Re: opinions needed

This is a tough call. Any engine you buy wether a ze or KL03 should come with some kind of warranty. The problem with that is the warranty is for the motor only and not the labor, if your doing the install.
$900 still seems a little pricey for a pgt engine, even with shipping.
The ZE is worth...

Re: Serious underhood work

The seatbelt recall should still apply.
You should persue it more. It shouldn't cost you a dime. Find more info on the recall and bring that to the dealer and have it fixed for free. It should not matter wether your the first owner or the tenth.
If your burning oil its not the head gasket.
...

Re: Needsomeconfirmation

1) I have been told it is a limited edition. It is an MX3 1.8i Auto V6 Eunos Equippe imported from Japan about a year after rolling off the Conveyor. I have been unable to confirm this as there is very little literature in this country. Is it a limited edition or have I been conned?
It would hel...

Re: ok weather stripping

yes that is the weather stripping to remove.
you can remove it and feel the heat coming from the area of the wipers. one drawback is the hood might shake more at highway speeds.
the rubber acted as a support along the back edge of the hood.
If you don't like it just put it back on. there w...

take it from me if its a blown head gasket not much worse can happen by driving a short distance. Just make sure the coolant level stays full and try not to overheat it again.
I have a late 80's tbird in my driveway with 80k miles on the odometer and a blown head gasket. paid $50 for it from a c...

Re: CEL only on highways?

I recommend ngk-vgrove plugs. The wires I'm not sure about the best for our application.
I'm on my 5th set. The first two sets were under warranty and the last two I had to foot the bill. So far so good with this set, which is a bosch set with a lifetime warranty.
Andy P. 93 GS

Re: Coolant overflow?????

could be as simple as the radiator cap needs replacing or as complicated as a blown head gasket. What kind of mixture (antifreeze/water) do you have?
Andy P. 93 GS

Re: CEL only on highways?

I was thinking it sounds like your spark plug wires. When was the last time they were
replaced? If it is the wires, replacing the plugs will only make it more noticeable.
If you do look for wires keep the probe gt and the mx-6 in mind. they will fit and work fine there just a little longer. <...

Re: Spark Plugs

You can usually find the information about the spark plug gap on a label under the front hood. Platinum spark plugs don't work well in our cars. I don't have a good explanation for that other than hearing testamonials on the probetalk site and the other mx-3 group. I also tried platinums when the ca...
