Stock wires are NKGs, I'd just get those. You can pick them up on the internet at various places for cheap.

I haven't tried it personally but I've seen reviews on it on a few different cars and the smallest gain that any of the cars realized was 5 hp, which was on a Suzuki Aerio with like 120hp. I plan to get a set when I get a little more cash, they are only like $100.

I agree, go with intake and exhaust first. As far as putting just a filter on it isn't a terrible idea, you won't notice a huge gain but most likely a small one not because you are sucking in cold air but because it can suck in more air; it is less restrictive.
