Re: problems with mx3 -93

Geez, sorry to hear about Mazda replacing your VAF...I could have told you to avoid that mistake. That error code came up on a diagnostic check they did for my car...thankfully I didn't go for a new part because it was also NOT the real problem. Seems to be a popular solution for them when they coul...

Re: Damn COLD car HATES it

Haven't been out to my car yet to read the possible stored codes, but will do that this weekend. Just wanted to say that I think Aaron the hic is on to the problem...a short...frying my alternator...break in wiring somewhere...<p>I had an amp but it was stolen a month ago along with my cd player...s...

Re: Damn COLD car HATES it

I appreciate the responses...<p>I will take the one minute of my time and do the paper-clip engine code test...although every mechanic that I've taken the car to has given me one code or another that after replacing some sensor or part did nothing. But for kicks, I will check and then proceed to get...

Damn COLD car HATES it

Looking for some fresh ideas on what could be causing me eternal grief. The problem is 10 times worse in the cold (minus 30 with wind chill here in toronto today...which is pretty much the same in Celsius AND Fahrenheit).<p>Start car up - as soon as I start to pull away, orange engine light comes on...

Re: my driver lock is messed up

The holding the handle up makes you think before you close the door. Twice I've been saved when I just slammed her shut with my keys still in the ignition...but thankfully the door didn't lock. Also, the keyhole on all my doors is fudged up. Hatch went first...I'll break a key off in there one of th...

To the guy that stole my stereo

Reminder to the group. If you have a detachable faceplate on your car stereo, don't lock it in your glove compartment. That was the only laugh I could have after some A-hole broke into my car this week and popped out my stereo. Whoever it was, they even knew to lower the backseat and unwire my sub.....

Re: help please vaf - 1100 at mazda

don't believe the codes! I had the shop replace the VAF twice due to the codes and the same symptoms keep coming back. Lots of used VAFs out there if you look hard enough. Don't pay more than $40-$70 for one. Go to the wreckers if you have no other choice.

Re: weather strpping

It's not dangerous at all. In fact, I recommend taking all stripping off your car and even get a screwdriver in under your windshield and wiggle it around a bit, then drive around in the rain. While you're at it, remove your sunroof if you have one and replace it with foil.
