Re: CV Joints mtx vs. atx
Well if the autoparts stores sell you the same one for either tranny trhen I'd say that you could ude either one without a problem, but I don't even know what the rings on the ATX are.

I pass emissions in Georgia with out the EGR better than the last time that I passed with the K8. The ZE runs pretty clean.

Re: Lost performace after service
Run your fingers along the ribs looking for cracks. Put alittle bit of pressure on it when you are feeling it to open any cracks that may be minute. Any hole at all will cause a probelm.

I think that their benefits out weigh their pressure drop by quite a bit unless you are running very low boost.

Second the codes, try pulling them first and then it is just a process of elimination. Replace the items that are causing codes untill you figure it out, then pull the codes again to make sure you got it.

Re: hard to describe sound
Is the noise all the time? Could be brakes slightly locked up, or maybe the bearing, feel for heat on the hub or can you wiggle the wheel when the car is jacked up. Hold the top and bottom and try to push the top in and then the bottom in, if it will wiggle then you need new bearings anyway.

Re: the BEST exhaust??
I gotta Flowmaster and it sounds like a metal piece of crap when I romp on it. Kinda like it has a metal piece that is vibrating too hard insied the can. I know a budy with a Remus and it is ok, but not loud ever. I'd go with Borla or Magnaflow to get a deep sound, but they will be heard at idle.

Re: Cold AIr intake Q
You put a breather filter on the large tube on the motor side and scrap the piece that goes to the intake. There should be one other vaccum hose and it must still connect to the intake pre-MAF (VAF)

IMO Mazda wants to make sure that you have to buy a new production model to get their performance parts. You can ge tmost Mazda Speed parts for the current models from Mazda dealers. As for the membership part I tried and couldn't even get a response.

Re: Pics of Patrick's car from MOCA
Lost the front lip a long time ago in a naccident. I have a body kit for the car, but am in the process of customizing it. As for the ZE intake pics I don't have any hosted on the web so that I can post them. If someone in the lub has one I'll take a look at it and might post it. The rims are Kazera...

Re: Standard brakes in Mx-3
Nope, the change over to stainless lines only took me about 1 hour. 30 minutes to change the lines and 30 more to bleed all four lines. Definately much more brake feel and no brake fade. Also rubber lines will "balloon" (expand when you brake hard)This usually won't happen untill your line...
