Re: dash lights works opposite
I dont think I would trust voltage from a head unit unless it is verified just in case. The best way to check is to start the car and use a multimeter on the battery. With the car running, it should be in the 14v range. Check to make sure your alt belt is tight and that all the connections to the al...

Re: "Stuck" axle nut giving me trouble
I had the same problem, pulled the spindle, axle and all and took it to a shop that had some good torches before I got my own. They put it in a vice, heated it up and off it came with one shot from the impact gun.

Re: What Engine Could Replace the KLZE?
I have access to 2 220v mig welders, a plasma cutter that will cut up to 7/8" plate and 2 licensed mechanics that both have 20+ yrs of experience and fab work before if I need extra help. The 2.5L makes practically the same power as the KL but it has a cast iron block, so you can rule that out....

Re: "Millenia ZE" vs "True ZE" Dyno evidence.
The only way to truly find out the exact number is to put the engine on an engine dyno instead of putting the car on a chassis dyno. That way, it eliminates drivetrain loss, variances in exhaust size and you could easily find out if there is a difference between EGR on and off. That is usually more ...

Re: What Engine Could Replace the KLZE?
As far as the drivetrain is concerned, someone could make an adapter plate to use our existing trans, allowing the steering, axles and suspension geometry to stay correct. That would also eliminate the issue of modifying most of the motor/trans mounts to work. If you break down the wiring harness fr...

Re: What Engine Could Replace the KLZE?
I checked out a Taurus at the junk yard and it looks like they use a full subframe instead just a crossmember. The mounts are at the front and rear passenger corner on the block and the trans mount is under the trans about 6" in front of the axle. The bay layout looks pretty similar but there w...

Re: RX7 FD Wheels - Spacer thickness for clearance?
They are 16" x 6.5" factory Hyundai Accent alloys with 205/55/16s. I wouldnt trust driving around on them, but the washers will help you work out spacing and check any clearance issues while at ride height, even get measurements for longer studs if you go for a kit without them and you can...

Re: RX7 FD Wheels - Spacer thickness for clearance?
My 16" rims are +45 and I needed 10mm to clear the strut, the easiest thing to do is go get some large washers and mount up your rims. When you get enough clearance with the washers so the tires dont rub, just take the washers off and measure them, and thats your spacer size.

Re: RX7 FD Wheels - Spacer thickness for clearance?
Stock offset is around 35, so I'd guess 15-20mm would be safe.

Re: Rolling Chassis, no engine/trans
As long as you dont damage a brake line or leave the e brake intact, you should be fine to move it around without a drivetrain safely. Just think of it as a large go cart, you just dont want it to roll too much and end up on the road or into the back of the garage, had a few close calls with mine. I...

Re: retro fitting/fabercating superchargers? but how?
There are lots of threads dealing with this, even a guy selling the brackets for s/c v6 setup in the fs section. Most involve the old a/c location which is pretty well the only space to fit it. Check some of the worklogs and search and you should find all the info you need as well.

KLZE stumbling
Hey guys, I've had my mx3 on the road for about a week now and it is mostly working fine except that sometimes when I give more than 1/2 throttle, the car gets jumpy. It'll go, then the rpms will drop off at least 500rpm, then catch again, then drop again until I let off the gas. I've tried my spare...

Re: Just Bought ltd time to work with please help
The fuel problem is partially because of using a k8 ecu with a ze, either try to find a chipped ecu or the proper KL ecu so you arent running so rich. Other than that a basic tune up would help (plugs, wires, etc.) with some of the general issues as well and fix any vacuum leaks. You can always post...

Re: CorkSport (Or Any) Strut Bar On KLZE IM (56k Warn)
Alot of race cars use solid mounts but they dont care about vibrations. I'd be worried about resonance if you used solid mounts and tied into a strut bar, the right rpm would shake the crap out of you and the car.

Re: FPR mod not just for V6s
I'm not sure what kind of shape your injectors are in, but if you have access to a good fuel injection cleaning kit (one that uses a spray can hooked directly to the rail) you can make sure you are getting the fuel at the pressure you want out of the injectors in the proper spray pattern and you don...
