Re: KLZE ECU question
$400 for shipping! If you find an engine on the west coast it should be no more than $200 - have you tried Foreign Engines in Lynnwood, WA?
They had 3 KLZE's for $849 2 weeks ago and shipping was not $400

Re: throttle cable
I used the bracket which came with my ZE - it's good and smooth action but the cable runs at 30 degrees to a straight line. Also the nuts which adjust the length are at the maximum. Getting this sorted out is on my list of around 15 little things to get perfect after the swap last week - Simon

Re: Failed Emissions Test
it was tested as an mx-3, I don't know if British Columbia has any rules about modified engines etc. I'll try and find out.
I put a KL-02 VAF on last night and I;ll see what that does to the emmissions when I take it later on today - there is a noticeable difference in power and I had to reset th...

Failed Emissions Test
My KLZE with K8 ecu + K8 vaf has just failed emissions: Hydrocarbons - 6 times the limit at 2.17g/km
Carbon Monoxide - 6 times the limit at 53g/km
but the good news(?) is that NOx is 50% of the limit so it passed for that - so I get the EGR works ok!
What do you think the best way to pass is a...

I've had to take the blower out twice now to clear the leaves etc that fall in as the blower fan starts ticking after a while.

Re: Codes 17 & 24 after KLZE swap
I checked with Mazda first of all to see what the parts would be new:
$1900 for the ecu & $1100 for the VAF - then plus 14.5% tax = $3435 CAD or US$2500!!!
I was surprised when the parts man said he has never sold one - I wonder why?
The wreckers are asking for around $350 - $450 CAD for ...
