Re: gs gas mileage
All original suspension here also.
Tire pressure can play a role in mpg's.
so what psi are you running front and rear?
I'm sticking to my guns that replacing the oxygen sensors can return 1-2 mpg's if they have never been done and you have over 100k
You could just be a lead foot :D ...

Re: Paint?
I have used both paint shops in the past here
in Lake Worth, Fl. So far I'm a happy customer. But, and here's were it gets complicated, I have done my own prep work,
from body work to taping things off. I also found it better to just strip the car of everything that would come off easily.
...

Re: gs gas mileage
"235" thats not the best thats for sure.
When I purchased the car new in late 93 I averaged 26-27 mpg. A good day on the highway could net me up to 32 mpg, even in the city my mileage was better than it is now. currently I'm getting 24-25 mpg average.
now a good day on the highway ...

Re: engine gasping?
I would start by checking for cracks in the
flexable intake tubing. Might be time to clean the throttle body. check the linkage for the accelerator and make sure its moving freely. I work in boca so maybe we could meet for lunch. I think better with the problem right in front of me,it will proba...

Re: blue smoke on start up
Just your typical seeping from valve guides
while the car sits. keep an eye on your oil
level.
Should you get it fixed? yes
Do you have to get it fixed ? no
The oil thats being burned can cause other
problems down the road. one of those is not
a bent rod unless you let the oil...

Re: My horror story at the dealer!
How long does the warranty stay in effect?
I would do my own compression test. This could tell you a lot about the condition of the new/used motor.
check the fluid levels and make sure they look new.
Stay on top of them if something doesn't feel right.
Andy P. 93 GS
P.S. A probl...

Re: v6 Brake Master Cylinder?
I have not replaced the master cylinder on the mazda yet, but the leak you talk of sounds like a cheap o-ring replacement. I would try replacing the o-ring first. If the
mazda's resivoir is like most it should seperate from the cylinder, revealing the o-rings that seal it. If you can find the o-...

Re: Car Bucks on acceleration
what your describing sounds like many of the things already replaced. I would first try a compression test. this would eliminate a possible blown head gasket, low compression,or
some other major problems.
Andy 93 GS

Re: Should I buy?
The fact that he claims to have owned the car for 5 years and doesn't know the model of the car may indicate a questionable background.
But if he is really this sincere than here are a couple more things to be aware of when
buying a used mx-3. Has the distributor been replaced or upgraded ye...

Re: Engine Swap Question
If you are going through the trouble of an engine swap I'd suggest the 2.5l motor. At the very least a kl03 or maybe a klze.
the difference between the 4 cyl and the 1.8L 6 cyl is maybe 30-40 hp, but the klo3 would be 60-70 hp and the klze 90-100hp. Either of these motors would fit just as easil...
