Exhaust Piping Size

Post by millionflame »

I've heard a lot of people mentioning about 2.5" exhaust piping for the V6, and how it will give you a lot more power. The stock piping is 2.25" right? Well, isn't there a reason why Mazda would make it that, and not 2.5" etc.??? Does 2.5" give the maximum velocity of gases and furthermore raise HP, or does it in fact raise torque???<P>~A

2" on a K8. It breathes fine at high rpm, so what you want is to give it some more midrange punch. 2.25" will gut the midrange a bit....so its not my first choice.
