Re: Knife edged manifold and hourglassed tb

Re: Are mx3 v6 interference engines?
From what I know, K series motors are all non-interference. The timing either works or it doesn't. When my friend timed his ZE one tooth off, it wouldn't even start. I helped him get it timed and it started up like normal.

Also, as an option, I have a full set of KL101 cams that I can sell cheap. Sorry, I don't mean to be 'selling' here but I'm offering it as help.

Re: upgades???
You can check google for JDM engine sellers. JDM Engine Depot is one. There are many ways to get a ZE. Look for someone who is parting out a Probe or MX6/3 who has a ZE. Remember you can always get a KLDE from a Probe GT or MX-6 as well and it will give you more than what you can get by adding to yo...

Re: upgades???
KLZE for MX3 and MX6 are direct bolt ons. Have fun! Make sure you check the codes to be sure that you are in fact getting a ZE and not something else. It happens quite often enough.

Re: upgades???
There will always be a faster car out there. No point in trying to go for the fastest or having a huge ego when you do swap and build up. The MX-3 is so similar to the MX-6 in terms of aftermarket modding that you shoudn't have to do much reading here anyway. In fact, I've been custom fitting many t...

Re: Loud spark noise, idle RPMs drop.
Nope no bare wire. The wires are in good condition minus the 2 missing things on each plug.
I'm starting to lean toward the failing disty.
Ok I'm just going to order some new plug wires next monday and see if that fixes the problem.

The ones I've used all push a little. Maybe it's designed specifically for Bosch rotor buttons?

Re: Loud spark noise, idle RPMs drop.
I'm not hearing the sparking anymore on idle for some reason but I can still sometimes feel it when driving. I'm just going to replace the wires since I don't have the rubber boots on the end that lock into the plugs, nor do I have the squares on the ends that cover the plug holes. Maybe that's the ...

Re: high idle
Intersting. I have idle problems after I reset my TPS. However. I know I have the TPS set correctly. I tuned it with a ohmmeter and it is in the correct range. My butterfly valve screw is all the way down. When I start the car with the IAC disconnected. the car stalls so I know its cut off all the w...

Loud spark noise, idle RPMs drop.
As simple as the subject says. When I have the engine at idle after it warms up, i hear random spark noises that come in single or multiple spark nosies that seem to disrupt the natural flow or timing of the engine idle that cause the RPMS to drop but not noticeable on the TAC. I know the RPMs are d...

Re: noticible oil burning on my valve cover
Yep if you want. If you do, I recommend having someone help you inside the car working the gas pedal so one of you can suck some thru a vac line on the intake manifold to clean them out too. Just do some searches to make sure what lines to use so you do it right and do it in an open area or open gar...

Re: Rough idle problem
What is your idle at when cold and warm?
I don't see how having any of that gutted can cause a problem unless it's because you need to compensate somehow.
