after ive been driving for a bit, ill open my drivers side door and ill immediately smell fresh gas. It almost smelled like it was originating somewhere near the rear drivers side wheel vicinity.

It was actually a piece of crap when i got it but ive been fixin it up now for a bit. Why is it so rare? I bought a new rear hatch and i was thinkin about taking the spoiler off.

I got a 93 4 cycl with rear drum brakes but i do have a rear spoiler. Ok well that answers that. Thanks

I searched and im kind of a nub on this but how do you tell what the difference is?

I opened up the MAF by removing the black panel that is sealed by some silicone sealant. I dont really recommend it unless your absolutely sure its the MAF. We figured it out by disconnecting the MAF and then starting it up. It should idle fine but try connecting the MAF plug back in and if it dies ...

problem solved. Took apart the maf and the two connectors that are suppose to touch each other that engage the fuel pump were not touching.
