RS or GS

I searched and im kind of a nub on this but how do you tell what the difference is?

are you looking to buy an mx-3 or are you trying to figure out what type yours is? what's the context of the question?

an rs will have a 4 cylinder and rear drum brakes, usually no front lip or spoiler (there are exceptions)... gs models vary but will have a v6 engine and disc brakes all the way around...

I got a 93 4 cycl with rear drum brakes but i do have a rear spoiler. Ok well that answers that. Thanks

It was actually a piece of crap when i got it but ive been fixin it up now for a bit. Why is it so rare? I bought a new rear hatch and i was thinkin about taking the spoiler off.

it's rare because very few people who bought the RS had the optional spoiler added on

Without seeing a pic we dont know what spoiler he has and whether or not its rare

But the spoiler that was an option on the RS is relatively rare. The reason is.. most of the people that bought the RS version of the car were more interested in economy. Most of the people that bought the GS wanted something a bit more sporty. Since the majority of RS buyers were looking for something reliable with decent gas mileage.. appearance packages were down the list of priorities for most. There will always be exceptions to this.. but this is just common sense.

He never said it was the RS spoiler. I've seen a ton of RSs with the GS spoiler (mine included).

correct me if i'm wrong but i do beleive all 94 up RS have the old style spoiler

mine doesn't and I know many others who don't... the RS spoiler only came on the car if you asked for it
