Re: At what point is it to much?

you should only bondo about 1/8 inch thick maximum. Also, you should not bondo edges if at all possible. break those guidlines and you are much more likely that at some point the bondo is going to come loose and look like total crap. That said, a inexpensive set of body working tools, some reading o...

Re: ground control install

Make sure you properly tightened your strut mount nuts and the strut nut in the center. I ususally use air to tighten the strut nut since it spins, so if you do not have a compressor take the car to a oil change shop and pay the guy 5 bucks to hit them with air.

Re: Preparing for HLA, FGS, and VC gasket service

I bet the friction gear lowers the noise enough to satisfy you. If not just save some more for solid HLAs and be done with it. Make sure you ONLY use gasket maker where the manual says to and make sure you use the proper torque order. If you can get some, use HondaBond. It is THE best gasket maker i...

Re: [WTB] door weatherstripping

Don't you race or AutoX some MitMaks? MS sells them for a pretty decent price. I recently reaplaced all the door rubbers on both doors for less than 300. That was the inner and outer belt trims, the window seals and door seals.

It is hella fun to drive, I can attest to that, it just needs some love and more importantly a few well placed dollars ;)

Re: I need to buy a new or rebuilt 1.8 K8 for my 93 GS SE

Ya, Def go with a KLDE. Easy as pie to install and are a tad better than a K8. If you can get the K8 out you can get a KL in. Don't forget us GA boys are not that far away if you need a part or have a question.

Re: Quad headlight conversion

Good luck- it is not likely going to be easy or cheap. I built these http://memimage.cardomain.com/ride_images/1/2572/2501/6428750007_medium.jpg a few years ago from scratch. The materials I messed up trying to get it 100% added up, but the projectors alone (Hella 90mm) were pretty pricey. http://ww...

Re: Metallic scratching noise

Check that the nut on the axle is still tight. If you do not pinch them they can come loose, and often will after a day or two of driving. Did you put the nut on with air? You should if you did not and can usually talk a tech at a oil change shop into tightening it for a few bucks tip (bring your ax...

No, the later Mazda 3 is completely different motor and trans... They are 15 years apart in development and manufacture. Mazda is not so crappy as to sell the same technology for 15 years.

Re: Repetitive, rapidly worsening rear wheel grating noise

There are no specific issues with wheel bearings on MXs other than the fact that they are wear and tear parts and have ot be replaced from time to time. Have you recently replaced yours? Jack the car up and spin the wheel. If the grind is in the same spot most every time then check the brakes. If yo...

Re: Need Tranny Details please

Preyy much any trans that will fit the GS is the same in gearing, housikng and stregnth. The Mx6 G series looks identical but has a very slightly higher final drive meaning you'll run slightly lower RPMs for your given speed and gear. I've busted one trans in 160k miles and I race the car as often a...

You will need to fix your topic and post it exactly like the mod have asked. However, you should also tell us where you live so we know if we are even in the right country. Also, shipping a bumper costs 100+ usd last I checked, so it sounds like you are looking for a local seller?...

Re: car stalling randomly

+1 to Ryans suggestion- Check for Vac leaks, then reset your TPS, then check the neutral switch. All reasons the car can stall. It could also be a bad distributor or the HEI inside the disty. It will stop working when it gets too hot. There is a cheaper and longer lasting fix for the Mazda HEI which...
