Re: More HP?

Well, I am for sure going to the Texas meeting (in fact, I am the one that suggested the meeting at the Drag Wars because I was going there anyways). I will be happy to check out your throttle cable. As for the wrenches, I will try to bring some, but cannot make any promises. I will probably forget....

Re: got a wierd vibration under the hood......

White fish is right (like I also said). Most likely something simple, vibrating against something else. Did the noise stop when you increased the RPMs (step on the gas)? A piece of hose will work fine, but if you have (or can get) a stethescope, that would be better. If you are not sure what a steth...

Re: got a wierd vibration under the hood......

I just reread your post. I bet the reason that it stops in Neutral is because the RPMs increase because there is no load against the transmission. Is this an automatic or standard transmission?

Re: got a wierd vibration under the hood......

Does your car also make this noise when running in Park? Does it stop if you turn off the A/C or increase the RPMs? My truck had a rattle that was driving me crazy. It was my grille vibrating against the headlight housing. You might have something simple like that happening to yours. Most likely wha...

Something you really should check!

Have any of you ever looked closely at your throttle cable? If not, then you need to check this out. You could be losing power and throttle response!!! Make sure that the Throttle cable is tight (leave a little slack, but not much). If your throttle cable is loose, then your throttle body cannot ope...

More HP?

I just thought that I would share a little tip that might help some others as well. Of course the MX-3 runs pretty good from the factory. No doubt that most of you have done at least something to the engine/exhaust/intake to get some more power. Here are a few tips that you might not know (then agai...

Re: Replacing MX-3 Computer chip...

Look at the stats on the page listed below. In particular, check out the RPMs listed by the HP and Torque. <BR> <A HREF="http://www.mx-3.com/brochure/specificat ... erformance" TARGET=_blank>http://www.mx-3.com/brochure/specificat ... ormance</A> <BR>

Re: Replacing MX-3 Computer chip...

From what I can tell (and have been told by mechanics), the Mazda 4-cyl engine is very efficient and has been severly restricted to keep the car at a lower level (wouldn't want it to take away from the RX-7 would we?). I am not sure how true that is, but you can tell from the intake manifold that it...

Superchips has one for the v6. <A HREF="http://www.superchips.com/import.htm" TARGET=_blank>http://www.superchips.com/import.htm</A> <P>Jet also has one, but it does not say specifically for 1.6 or 1.8. You would have to contact them. <A HREF="http://www.jetchip.com/imports/" TAR...

Cool!<BR>You need to take some pictures of them and post them, or just show up at the Lone Star MX-3 meeting and surprize us there. Either way, I would love to see what they look like.

Re: the removal of ones in dash cassett player

the BEST thing to do is to get a plug for the wiring harness. You can get them for about $15-$20 at a car stereo installation shop (I got mine from Pep Boys). It plugs right into the existing factory plug and then all you have to do is to hook up the wires to the back of your radio. The wires are ev...

Re: Racer Design Muffler

Zoom24 has a Tsudo muffler on hers and it sounds pretty cool. Kinda loud, but it is a deep throaty sound, not the high pitched "pissed-off bumblebee" that most give you. I think it was about $200 for the muffler only. Polished Stainless.

Re: Turbo Rotary MX-3?

I have NO idea! I am not sure if there is a way to hook up a rotary to a front transaxle. Most likely, you would have to convert the car to a rear wheel drive which would probably be a major undertaking. Does anyone know if there was ever a front wheel drive rotary car?
