Hey guys,

My check engine light just came on and i have no idea what might be wrong with my car. Please give me any tips if you know what my make my check engine light come on. I have a 93-mazda mx-3, 4 cyld.

for jeff, try using lucas oil stablizer next time you get an oil change and see if that helps. When my lifters make that ticking noise, it's usually around the time i need to have an oil change.

It could be your lifters. They are the things that hold down your intake and exhaust valve springs inside your engine. I have the same ticking noise in my car, all i do to make it stop is put an lucas oil stabalizer in the engine, which is best to do with an oil change and it takes care of the ticki...

Have you checked your radiator for leaks. I had a somewhat similar problem, but after checking my radiator found out it was leaking on one side. A new one cost me $90 which i installed myself.

Just! one more thing for anybody who might hsve the same problem. For the 93 mx3 1.6 4cylds, the Distributor O-ring size is; Width 1/8" , Inner Diameter 1-1/2" ,outer diameter is 1-3/4". I only paid $1.50 saving me the $50 mechanic was trying to rip me off. Thanks again.

Hey guys i just finished changing my O-ring it wasn't that bad at all. Took me less than 1 hr and i ended up changing my distributor rotor and cap while i was in there. Hope it takes cared of my leak problem. Thanks again guys!!!!!!!!!!!

Do I use a pen and mark across, then align the distributor with the mark i made when am putting it back together??? messing up the timing is something i don't want. On a budg...

I have a 93 mx-3 4 cylnds and leaking oil out of the distributor. Changing the O-ring is recommended, but does anyone know what size i need. I've even called mazda dealership, they didn't help much. Also where is the O-ring located??
