Help!! Distributor O-ring

Post by wainaink »

I have a 93 mx-3 4 cylnds and leaking oil out of the distributor. Changing the O-ring is recommended, but does anyone know what size i need. I've even called mazda dealership, they didn't help much. Also where is the O-ring located??

the o-ring is on the distributor itself, you will have to pull the distributor all the way out and and take the o-ring off standard parts stores will have a selection you can compare to<P>note, remember to have the timing set to TDC on #1, befor you remove to Dist. good luck

Yeah, be sure to mark down the timing for the distributer or else your engine will run really funny, it happend to me when I had to change the thermostat on the 1.6L DOHC engine, I had to take off the distributer to get to the thermostat housing, and I forgot the mark down the timing, and a whole load of problems showed up, so don't forget to mark it down! :D
