Re: overheating
When your at idle and the car is beginning to overheat.. is your heater blowing hot at full heat setting? Or is it just luke warm? If your only getting luke warm heat from it while the temp is rising.. then its a sign that the water pump impeller is corroding away and is not moving the coolant as it...

Re: Anyone from Washington state willing to help me out?
If this dont work out for you Jordan.. let me know and we can get it settled. We can ship them to my work address so they arent sitting on my front porch all day too. Then we can meet up at the border some time. I need to hit the duty free store for some booze soon anyway

Re: What Higher Amp Alternators can we use
If you go for a Millenia alt.. get one from one of the 2.5L cars. The alternators from the 2.3 Supercharged cars are different. 97 is the year where they went back to a 90 amp version. But 93-96 should all be 110 amp. I found one on ebay for $30 shipped from a junkyard back east. Been running on it ...

One quick note about the shop manuals.. Mandi's car is a 96 and is going to be a OBDII car and the online shop manuals are all for OBDI cars. While there are a lot of similarities there are some major differences as well. Best to watch e-bay for a 96 manual to pop up. Especially the Body & Elect...

Re: inspecting spark plug wires
I'll chime in a cheap old trick for spotting faulty plug wires. This trick wont tell you if the wires have the proper resistance.. but.. if you have plug wires arcing to ground causing misfires.. this will show you which one and where it is arcing. Wait till really late at night in a very dark place...

Re: Official Rant thread.
Speaking of Alignment rants.. I paid Firestone $150 for a lifetime alignment. I did that when I had the RS too. This time.. they decided to tell me afterwards that the next time I come in they will have to charge me $40 to remove my strut bar (only the front one for some reason) because it wasnt fac...

Re: :) Whats the dumbest thing you've heard :)
I got a new one to add to this thread. First.. you gotta know the location, this happened on a trestle overpass. This bridge is 20 feet off the ground in most places. Its a 2 lane highway (there are actually 2 trestles.. one going each way with 2 lanes each). No shoulders to speak of.. just cement g...

Re: [WTB] KLDE Pistons - Full set w/ Connecting rods
does the tap go away when warm? Could be some collapsed lifters Trust me man.. this is so loud the only thing it can be is something bottom end related. Lifters would be way faster in tempo too. This is happening at ignition. Its possible it could still be a rod knock.. which would be bad news if I...

Re: [WTB] KLDE Pistons - Full set w/ Connecting rods
I picked up a KLDE cheap.. also got the 5spd with it out of a 626. Got the wiring harness.. would have the brain too but my brother was a dumbazz and left it in the car when we took it to the wreckyard. The trans is in excellent shape. The engine.. eh.. it has great compression.. but a nasty tap/kno...

Re: MX-3 Hatch won't stay open, any ideas?
I have a similar issue with my hatch.. nothing tragic.. but mine is related to the angle with which my car is parked. Odd I know.. but if the car is even slightly uphill (nose first) The hatch will not stay up without multiple attempts.. almost like working out on a benchpress.. finally they will st...

Is there any difference in the ATX ECU of the 626 in comparison to the MTX ECU?

Re: Ima singing the "Manual Window" Blues
I had this same issue with my 94 RS.. the seals are only part of the problem.. they are what cause the damage though. When the window gets hard to roll up and we force it to go up.. it actually stress the mechanism. It bends cause its not made of very strong material. I couldnt repair it. I found an...

Re: Mazda saying can't JUST do valve seals?
I'm gonna post a little write up on how to change the valve stem seals without removing the head. In case other people are cuious abou thow its done. can u do the same on a K8 ? Replacing the valve stem seals on a K8 with the engine in the car would be almost impossible. At least on the rear head.....
