With a heavy heart... Selling Mx-3 w/ KL-ZE
Yeah, she was my baby for years. I was pretty active on the site just over a decade ago, but I left the car in a family member's hands when I moved overseas years ago. I've been back two years and haven't been able to put the time in to bring her back around. I've got a killer job, but I'm working w...

Re: I wasted my money. please help me.
He has a custom intake...prob ditched that accordion...? My 2c I had major stalling problems with my ZE a year or so ago. Timing seemed to be set, so I did EVERYTHING I could think of, esp with disty. It would start most of the time but always bog bigtime with any attempt to accelerate. Finally ripp...

Re: Easy One: which VCG for ZE?
Thanks for clearing cobwebs, PAT. That makes sense; they seemed a little cheap. I'll pick a new set up like years ago.
And thanks for your input, Dan. Because of the spacers I'll be getting another set of paper IM gaskets from Outlaw - already on their way.
I miss you guys.

Easy One: which VCG for ZE?
The short of it: Straight-neck 31-cammed ZE (Millenia IM/TB). Are valve cover gaskets for a PGT or MX-6GT or etc the correct fit? My signature detailed rambling: So... my mechanic uncle ordered a seal kit (likely generically for Mx-3) after my valve job. Couldn't use the IM gaskets among other thing...

Try reading my posts again before talking. Try reading those little letters "Forum Moderator" before throwing out disrespect. BUT no more arguing EITHER OF YOU - it's pointless and you both look stupid. :freak: ...and this was no snide remark; it should be taken more like a warning. Shame...

Re: hesitation
That's the one under your hood.
By the one in your tank, do you mean the sock filter on the pump... or is there another one in line?

Re: hesitation
Yeah, just replaced mine while the engine was out. That's it. Depending on your intake setup, that thing could be the death of your knuckles. Total PITA.

Re: ZE not starting loseing faith
Yeah, what he said.
My timing was totally off because of a worn out timing belt tensioner...
It caused lots of problems.
Had spark, fuel, air.... all the things necessary for combustion...just not in the correct order.
Check the newly updated topic & see if the symptoms are similar.

ZE Starting/Running Problem (Now with 100% More Solution!)
Well, to start off... :D WOOHOO!!! Yes, yes, she's running great now - better than ever actually. I gave up/didn't put a whole lot of effort into the transmission 5th gear swap idea. ...but rebuilding the heads completely rid me of that annoying valve tick. After a few minor issues (vacuum lines dis...

Re: Paper IM Gaskets
Outlaw got back to me a few hours ago (email seems to be the way to contact them), and they'll send the set of four for $20 even with shipping. Even if those metal ones would work, they cost close to double for both sets.
Guess I'm saving that gasket material for another day...

Re: Paper IM Gaskets
Gotcha... I got a roll of gasket material today, so I'll be doing a little whittling tonight. I don't expect it to be terribly difficult. Romeo, the metal ones make a great seal between the block and the IM, but I've got the (more fragile) phenol spacers between the two. Paper gasket with a little s...

Paper IM Gaskets
I'll try not to ramble on here... So, I bought the phenos from Outlaw Engineering years ago (nice product btw), but I just had my heads rebuilt (woohoo!), meaning I obviously had to remove the IM. Point: now I need a new set of the paper gaskets Outlaw included with the kit (4 of them, of course), a...

How about V6 some gear ratio clarification...
While I quite enjoy reading about G6 trannies and Yoda's Frankenstein, it just fluffs up good research. So I'd like to piece together the simplest way to drop my gear ratio with a little table of car vs gearing. This isn't my forte. I just want to make searching a little easier, so I'll edit. All he...

Re: V6 Swap Questions
Ahh... Contour SVT... A good friend had one. Great torque lines on a dyno - pretty much horizontal.
After I got the ZE running, he had no chance; numbers were too similar, and he was too heavy.
While we're at it, we might as well swap the 3.0 SHO.
But yeah, what he said.
