Re: what springs do i need for a mx3 ?

It depends, though. You can still get brand name springs on ebay. You just have to watch what brand you're buying! Other threads have covered that. Of course, lowering springs aren't as good as proper coilovers, but then some people have to save up just to afford lowering springs. :)

Re: New wheels tyre size advice

I'm always a fan of undersizing the diameter to increase the effective torque, but no one ever seems to talk about that.

Re: winter tires

From what I've read, the Blizzaks (being the first) are the only ones with the bubbles for only 50%. Because the bubbles made the whole tire too soft, so they could only be used for the outer half of the tread blocks. The rest overcame the problem in various ways. The iG20s, for example, coated the ...

Re: Do Cold air intakes, WORK!!!???

I don't know anything about it, but wouldn't that plastic scoop assembly be getting it's air from the very front of the car? And thus be "cold" air, unless it's been pulled off, of course.

Re: winter tires

Blizzaks were the first of the "scientific" consumer studless, and I've heard they're great. I use the Yokohama iG20, and they're the same. Zipping around doing 4 wheel drifts with no ebrake = feeling like a pro. 8) Worth the money! In town, I find that there's a few big snow days that are...

Re: winter tires

It really depends on whether you want to focus traction for ice or deeper snow. Skinny tires will float less on deeper snow, at the cost of ice traction. Wider tires will have the larger contact patch on ice, which is obviously a good thing. WRC cars run 135 or 145 widths, at least from Pirelli... h...

Re: How long have you owned your MX3?

I've had mine since 2009. It's a great car and runs pretty good on 3.5 cylinders. :P For those who tout the greatness of the RS, what makes it so great? Mine's an RS, but I keep thinking about switching for the GS.... From what I could tell it costs 100 lbs for about 50 HP. Seems like an easy win, t...

Re: Which wheels for my mx3

The 789s look pretty much the same as the cheap wheels around here. Seems like everyone has 'em, and you know they're the cheapest. I think the ones around here are Vision, but I just don't like 7 spokes anymore. :P

Leaves don't bother me too much. Snowy bits in the face on a cold morning aren't terribly fun, though. :P Ah well. Gives the car character!

What are you jacking it up by? The frame, or the suspension?

Re: Rusted Rear Fenders/Quarters/Hatch - Salvage Replacement

As far as I can tell, the rear "fenders/quarter panels" are part of the car as a whole, and not swappable. Without cutting and welding, that is. :P

Otherwise, I'd love to know! I've got some dents from previous owner(s) I'd love to deal with cheaply.

Re: Favourite pic of your car.

Actually, you can get away with 25mm spacers without modification.... Assuming my rims are similar offset to stock. I'm pretty sure they're close. http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/464316_10151604764910045_725230044_24083960_1713671312_o.jpg?dl=1 http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-a...
