That's strange about the key, don't know what to tell you about that.

As for the fan, the important thing is the temperature guage. If the engine's running hot, then you might have a problem. If not, don't worry about it.

Mine was doing that too, but it turned out I'd just run out of transmission fluid.

On the off-chance that this is the problem, check the transmission fluid dipstick, which is beside the battery (you've got to reach down a bit to get it).

I've thought about that, but I don't really have anywhere to work on it; I live in an apartment building, and the parking garage has a lot of cars coming and going.
