12.5V sounds pretty normal under such a big load at idle. Hold it @2500 revs for a couple of minutes and see what the voltage reading is. It should come up a bit but don't expect anything near 14V. You gotta keep in mind that if the alternator was "tired" it wouldn't put out the current (a...

It almost HAS to be the headlight relay. I've found a relay that clicks when the switch is turned full on - but has no effect on the lights. I tested it and it makes contact when the headlights are selected. Have you swapped this relay? It may read with a multimeter that it has contact no load), try...

If you've got a TNS relay, it should stay activated throughout your lighting selection. It acivates on parkers and stays activated for low / high beam too (but is independant of the headlight circuit). AU spec (RHD) doesn't have a TNS relay or headlight relay. Its all done via direct switching. Forg...

Hey *Le Smartarse* I for one know your "you beaut" harnesses aren't available everywhere and even if they are they come at a cost. (And I should add an unnececessary one for anybody with any sort of basic skills.) You should be able to see that he has a problem that WILL NOT be fixed by ta...

(The parkers are a whole different circuit so they work independently.) The "flash to pass" bypasses the headlight relay so I'd suggest swapping the headlight relay for a test. Grab one of those in the engine bay near the firewall for this test purpose. The plug will be the same. Don't sta...

Yes, you'd need to crimp spade lugs on so it wouldn't be a straight out unplug to swap it in the future. Cost versus aesthics and convenience.

Is that a gear oil or a ATF? Its gear oil, NOT ATF You can run ATF as a lubricant in your trasmission either works. Hell check the OEM spec manuals many mazdas come with it in a MTX from the facotry. I ran penzoil Syncromesh worked like a dream. Yes I know you can run ATF in the TX, but what I'm sa...
