Re: 1/2 DIN mounts
Ya, I actually wired my eq in the glovebox because I didn't want anybody to steal it. It's pretty easy to run the wires behind the dash also.

Re: Ractive Heat Shield Air Filter Installation
I just spent some time and put the down pipe on my filter, to make a cold air intake. It took me about an hour or so. You will notice I moved the coolant reservoir to the left side of the car (it actually fits surprisngly well there). The hardest part was probably removing that stupid resonator box....

Tire jack and tire iron
Has anybody used the tire jack that is included in our cars? The reason that I ask is that I am going to be switching my rims and tires soon, and I wanted to know if this thing is any good, or a piece of junk. I would like to do it myself if I can, but I want decent equipment. Also is there a tire i...

Possible CV Boot problem or an unbalanced tire?
I've had my MX-3 for about 2 years, and it's always had this "thump thump" coming from the right rear tire area. It only happens until you reach about 10-15 mph, and then it goes away. The noise does change with speed. I didn't think it was any more than an unbalanced tire, but reading som...

Hey what's that thing that you have on the top of your back hatch? It's like a mini-spoiler, I think it looks slick!

Re: MD, VA, PA DE SPRING MEET
I live about an hour and a half south of Baltimore, I would love to come and take lots of pictures. I am just starting to mod my car, so it won't be too much to look at just yet, but I would like to see all the other cars!

Re: amp question
Oh dang ya that's right I was thinking two different things at once and trying to type them at the same time. haha At any rate the point is pay attention to the ohm rating of your amp or you will not be happy with the results. It will either blow up (if it's cheap) or the signal will keep cutting ou...

Re: amp question
I'm an electrical engineer. Basically you want to stay with 4 ohms unless your amp is actually rated at 2 ohms. Otherwise you will be pulling in much more current than your amp can handle, and this is bad for the capacitors in the amp. Some amps (the expensive ones) can go way down to like a 1/2 ohm...

Re: relocating rear speakers
This is what I did. I took out that hatch cover, and made a new hatch cover with an "encloser" for two 6x9 speakers. There is one picture (out of many) on my car's webpage.<p> http://www.msu.edu/~leonar40/Car.html <p>It's pretty easy to make a new hatch cover with the enclosers out of part...

Re: Mileage question?
LOL, he meant miles put on the car not gas mileage, but that is what I thought when I first read it too. To answer both questions, I have 125K (miles) on mine, and I haven't done jack to it except replace a few little things. All major systems are original and still working (knock on wood). As for t...

Re: Ractive Heat Shield Air Filter Installation
It's my birthday this weekend, and so I will be out of town, but I will definitely put a link to my car's webpage when I get back, and by that time it will have pictures of my new filter. Also I have put the pacesetter exhaust on (that doesn't fit so well on a 95, but I made it work). There are pict...

Ractive Heat Shield Air Filter Installation
I just replaced my stock air filter with a bright red (matches my car) Ractive filter. Wow, what a difference! I could feel a better getup, but the biggest difference was the sound! When you hit the gas hard it sounds like a race car! Here is how I installed it. I removed the top of the stock airbox...

Re: 93 GS stock wing for sale
Ok, I looked up the conversion and that is $67 in US so that is fine. I am just concerned about the shipping since you are in a different country and all. If you could find out how much it would be, then that would be great. My zip code is 22485. As long as it's not over like $30-$40 then I definite...
