i actually used a big ball joint seperator, long as ur taking out the passenger side, has a wide tapered opening, makes getting the CV joint out very easy drivers side is much much harder all the time for some reason tho

that sounds like a MAF problem... thats exactly what happens if u disconnect u MAF entirely, u cant hit the gas or itll die.... had that happen to me, got a new one and works fine... u said u swapped in a miata engine? did u chance ECU and MAF sensor also? if it still uses a maf

yeh im sure its not the belt, i have 2 different belts, each from a diff manufacturer.. they still squeel... sometimes itll squeel then stop, other times itll keep going and not stop.. quickly running out of ideas... ill try to ground the altinator and see what happens...altho isnt there a stock gro...

the problem is the belts arent that tight, they're just on there.. i tightened em a little bit, but... to no prevail... any other ideas?

ok, i was outside playing with em, tightened em... they still squeal, also the pully on my altinator gets so hot that it is starting to turn the metal nearest it colors... haha never seen this before, u guys got ne ideas? im bout out , its a brand new altinator btw

my car starts up and squeels, and then sometimes stops... Then when i put it in gear it starts squeeling again... changed the belts, altinator, any ideas? im thinking maybe water pump? any of u guys had this problem? car doesnt heat up tho so i dont think thats what it is... im running out of ideas,...

ok, so im trying to change the belts on my SOHC 1.6L engine, using a manual, i untightened the 3 bolts/nuts holding on the compressor, the power steering one, since that has the pully, and thats what the manual says to untighten.. now when i do that, all i can do is pull the compressor up, which tig...

i just put 6x9's in the back of the mx-3, so they do fit, with some cutting and fitting....

yeh i said that part totally wrong, i have the 1.6 SOHC, but it sounds like swapping the 1.6 DOHC isnt very hard, since the 1.6 sohc tranny bolts up right? i guess ill go that route, tho will i be able to make ok amounts of HP? i could look into the turbo project too now i hafta find a 1.6 DOHC that...

i guess i didnt explain that very well.. i'm going to techschool when i graduate this year, and i plan on being a high performance mechanic heh... i can do an engine swap np, but money becomes an issue since i am in school still... i work, couple weeks i could get a new engine,but id have to source ...

i haev a 1.6L engine, should i just swap it, or could i do some cool things to it? dont have money atm to do an engine swap, nor time, but major mods and such i could do... thanks for any feedback
