Engine Question 1.5 DOHC
Hi Folks, I may have access to a spare 1.5 DOHC engine out of the Japanese version of the MX3, the AZ-3. I believe the engine code is B5-ZE, it is supposed to be rated at around 120hp stock. I am considering building this engine to run a lot of boost, my question is will the forged rods and forged p...

Re: Turbo Charging b5 dohc
Manifolds are the same, you can use the GTX manifold on the 1.5 DOHC since guys here in Barbados have done it on the Mazda Lantis with the 1500cc engine. Actually most of the parts between the 1500cc and 1600cc Mazda engines are identical.

Re: Turbo Charging b5 dohc
I think people need to stop thinking of terms of psi and look at the specs of the turbo, 8psi on a T3/T4 is not the same as 8psi on a small T25. The key thing is proper tuning of ignition timing and fuel, I have a stock engine and have run up to 14psi on occasion.

Re: Internal upgrades? (BP guys!)
I must agree with the other guys here, the BP engine is a very strong engine in stock form and is well suited for boost. Since you indicated you already have the engine apart, if money isnt an issue I would at least go for some SCAT/ETD forged rods and forged pistons so you have a bulletproof bottom...

RS_OBD'oh_2 is 100% correct here, turboing a MX3 aint cheap.
If you are on a tight budget then dont even bother.

Re: 95 RS DOHC TO A B6 W/ TURBO SWAP. HELP!!!
I agree with RS_OBD'oh_2 here fully, you need to decide what you want from the car, do you want 150whp, 200whp, 300whp? Also what is your budget for modifications? Are you able to pay for all the work to be done by a competent mechanic or can you do most of the stuff yourself? There are a number of ...

Re: 95 RS DOHC TO A B6 W/ TURBO SWAP. HELP!!!
I would just like to add my 2 cents here, once your engine is in good shape, you can see just as good results from a Turbo B6 DOHC as you would from a BPT, obviously this assumes that you have a decent turbo setup with proper fuel and ignition control. I have been running my setup for a couple years...

Re: good upgrades for 1.6 dohc
Turbo  Honestly when I was NA I did a ton of stuff with the car and while the performance improved slightly it never felt fast. I had clutch and lightened flywheel, lightened pulley, CAI, full exhaust, iridium plugs, plug wires etc etc. It felt a lot better than it did when stock but still wasn...

Re: Halo Projector Headlights--Size problem..
I should be receiving a set of these lights in a week or so since I was impatient with the group buy on the other lights and went ahead and ordered these set. Will let you guys know if I run into any fitment issues and post some pictures to inform the others.

Re: SuperK did a compression test on his B6...
Last compression test I did which was about a year ago, I was at around 180 in all cylinders. This is with over 3 years of boost so I was quite pleased.

Re: Offical Spyder MX3 Halo Projector headlight (Black / Chrome)
Guys we need to get this group buy going pretty quickly, I am not willing to wait 2-3 weeks for it to began especially when the lights are available elsewhere. I would like to support the group buy and the mx3.com site but my patience wont last long. I have seen too many group buys here and on other...

I am still undecided on whether I should buy the clear ones or the black ones, which style do you guys think would look better on a red MX3?
I must say that these new headlights have me real excited.

What would be the price of these lights including shipping via USPS First Class or USPS Priority to Barbados?

Re: Spyder/ carpart4u Headlights/ OEM comparison
Both set of MX3 projector headlights look good visually to me, as colinsmx3 said I am more interested in the connections, wiring and fittings at the back of the lights to determine which ones I will eventually purchase.
My car is a JDM RHD MX3 and currently uses H4 headlights.
