swaybar diameter isn't comparable. by this, i mean that a 22mm bar on the front of the car doesn't mean that it's "big" just because the aftermarket rear bar is 22mm. There's more than just diameter in terms of effective stiffness of a swaybar. Also, on a camber limited car like the MX-3, ...

they are tokico blues for the Ford Escort ZX2, which is a car based originally off the BG Chassis Mazdas of the early 1990s, with minor tweaks.

Rota doesn't make anything that light. Which model? All of their 15 x 6.5 stuff is in the 12 lb range.

Re: cross drilled rotors

MX-3 brakes are very adequate for our uses. Run good pads, fresh fluid, oem sized solid rotors, and SS lines if you'd like. Even on race tires, you'll be able to lock the brakes if you really want to at any speed you guys will ever see. If they don't check the parts of your braking system because so...

BAD!

Re: zx2 springs

nobody to my knowledge has used the ZX2 S/R springs, as that would require buying the springs. I'm not sure of the rates, and it would be easier to just match them with whichever MX-/Protege springs you like.

Re: Ball Joints (Please explain...)

the ball joint is the joint between the curve of the LCA and the curve of the strut as the suspension compresses or rebounds. having a ball joint rip out will disconnect your lower control arm from the spindle, the spindle will have lots of freedom to move in directions it's not supposed to, and you...

Re: Has anyone cut their bumpstops when lowering?

you are ALWAYS supposed to use bumpstops.

And you should cut them if you're lowering the car.

They are a saftey device to protect your struts when you hit something hard.

Re: zx2 strut question...

no, the Tokico ZX2 struts were the OEM strut for the ZX2 S/R. They were made by Tokico, but they were on the cars at the dealership.
