Wow you just declared your ignorance about your knowledge of Ford, Mazda and your MX3 (assuming you even own one).

Why do the Ford Probes share the same transmission and engine family with our car? Why is the MX3 chassis almost identical to the Ford Escort (and Mazda Protege)? Why do the ZX2 struts directly bolt up?

Maybe if you could answer those questions you'd actually have grounds to even put up an arguement. Until then, you just look like an idiot.

LOL.. i agree, sorry chanko. :D but i can see why people would want a different brand of part in their car. for example.. if you wanted a turbo out of a 323 for your mx3, go ahead and modify your engine and install it. as long as the outcome is good and there is a performance increase, thats all that matters. IF the zx2's i got had a more "performance" feel, i woulda kept em. :D hahaha

Ford owns a 33.4 percent stake in the Japanese automaker (Mazda)...

guess you should change of brand if you dont like ford

LOL

Secondly, I agree you're not snapping the strut in two and duckt taping it back together, but you're also not installing a part specifically designed for a mazda MX-3.

Lastly, it is a ford product since it well, kinda is a product FOR Ford Racing. You show me where I said a product OF Fords. But that's what you get when you make assumptions...an *** .

SO yea, I believe you can um, suck my balls.

you freaking idiot suck your on gay balls! tokico hps are stock replacements so nothing to be proud of besides getting ripped off. you have eibach springs which are tuned for zx2 s/r tokico struts. so whos the dumb *** now? not to mention weight distribution is pretty much the same.

Err, a KL-Ze or BPT was not designed for Mx-3 either, but why would you not wnat to drop one in. Oh, and also please try to remain civil.

Man, Quick Silver and ProtegeSTS, what is your deal? Is there any purpose to call people names. You are so smart but you need to call people foul names to try and get your point across. Why hasn't a moderator taken action on these guys? For gods sake why on earth do you have a be so mean to someone who just tells people about his experiance. Informative thread, but the people who provide the information can't even stay calm when someone isn't on their "intelagence" level. You guys must really get pissed off at alot of people in this world if things this little bother you so much.

davidos- tokico zx2 struts are different from tokico hp (blue ones). the tokico hp's are oem replacements where as the tokico zx2 struts were supposedly valved for eibach springs

chill out bud, you dont know what we put up with in the past with these types of questions. anyone else on here that has useful information to share probably already stopped posting years ago because they probably got sick of posting the same information in every single thread asking the same thing.

well... i have posted here before many MANY times since i've had like 3 different suspension setups.. and i've realized that getting the zx2's was a waste of time!

so the story begins when i foolishly bought dropzones off ebay for $100 more than they are now. those were paired with KYB GR-2's, some NICE gas struts! well, they were TOO stiff, so that setup didnt last long, tee hee hee..

then i took the advice of some people that said Intrax was a softer spring, and that ZX2's would even it out so it was a really nice ride. but sad to say i was bottoming out left and right because the ZX2's had barely any strength at all. (i could fully compress the strut with my own hands) :D so what i've found is zx2's aint worth the money and custom work to make them fit, and kyb's are just stronger and better overall!

ooh AND!! people say that the ZX2's will make your car lower, but using the same intrax springs, i noticed actually around .5" MORE of a drop from the KYB's! so wouldnt that mean zx2's are .5" higher than stock? lol

just my 2 cents, anybody find this too? or would like to disagree? anywayz GO KYB! :2thumbsup:

I don't have time to read through this whole thread, but I'll tear into this one.

a) dropzones are terrible and the spring rates are retarded, as are the spring lengths.

b) you will not bottom out based on your struts.

c) the fact that you could compress them with your hands is useless. Dampner don't stop motion, they SLOW motion. Sure you can compress it down, but you cannot do it FAST, which is why they call it a damper.

d) I don't see how changing struts changed how much suspension travel you have, so changing to the KYBs shouldn't have done anything other than change your damping curve.

they are tokico blues for the Ford Escort ZX2, which is a car based originally off the BG Chassis Mazdas of the early 1990s, with minor tweaks.
