Re: I am ready to cut it off!!

I had this problem when I installed bronzeoil bushings on my car. The bushings froze to the bolt....and i had a hell of a time getting that bolt off.
I got a dead blow hammer and beat the **** out of it while turning it with a wrench...it eventaully came out, but it took FOREVER.
A bolt costing ...

Re: Clunking

The clunking could be caused by a number of things
The one i'm thinking of is a worn Tie-rod end, but it could also be:
-Axle (would make a clicking while you turn and are moving) -Balljoint (would clunk when you hit bumps in the road...you can only hear it at lower speeds) -Swaybar endlink brok...

Re: short shifter

your shifter lever isn't the problem, its the shifter arm that physically bolts to the transmission. There are two rods, one is the shifter rod which is connected to your shifter that is used to actually move the shift forks in and out of gear, and then there is the shifter arm which is what the shi...

Re: what is the meaning of the engine check light?

if the plugs are not firing b/c of oil clogging them up, then the CEL will trigger.
If your CEL is triggering intermittently, then it is most likely a ignition problem. If it isn't then its a fuel problem (clogged injector maybe).
Check to see if the plug wires are firing. Easiest way is if you...

Re: want an engine???

damn, i wish i saw this thread back when you first posted it!! I swapped a B6D to my Festiva not too long ago, but I bought one from a capri. It would have been MUCH easier if i could've bought your motor with the ECU and full harness and all the sensors straight off you back in september :( .
I'...

Re: BULLFROG Big Bore Throttle Body (1.6L 4cyl)

i believe your stock throttle body is 55mm. Gude bores it out to about 59-60mm's. You won't notice any real difference without other major modifications to your motor (like nitrous or turbo).
Not worth the money

Re: How to adapt Protege intake to MX-3

hell yah man!! thats sweet. I think it might fit on the VAF powered cars as well, but you'd have to get the adapter for the vaf meter to fit the filter to it, and connect both pipes before it instead of between it.
I was thinking of getting one of those for my protege, but i am installing a GTR mo...

Re: DX or LX Protege?

Basically anything from the protege will swap over to your car. Get the rear disc brakes, swaybars and transmission while your at it.
Differences between DX and LX are as follows:
DX = roll up windows, no power anything, some have tachs and if they do its 6k redline, SOHC motor, taller gearing, ...

Re: Anyone have experience with this company?

I have read stuff about sparkco on the protegemp3.com board. They sell spark plug wires for the MP3 and Protege5's that they claim INCREASES horsepower...which is utter bull****.
I wouldn't buy from them. If they lie to their customers, why support them? their rotors are probably garbage.
Defini...

Re: Intrax for GS only or not?

i know some ppl with intrax springs, and yeah, they do NOT drop as far as they say they will. On top of that, the ride quality is pretty crappy with them on there...they seemed softer than the stock springs!!

Re: ZX2 Struts (Caution: 215+ Tires)

yup...you might possibly be able to fit 325mm wide tires on your car if you had a wheel that had the offset to accomadate it.
Your wheels are the problem, not the tires ;)

Re: Suspension Technique Or H&R??? The Best one is?? And

H&R's are known to make the highest quality springs. Some would argue that H&R springs are better quality than Eibachs.
Suspension Techniques isn't exactly well known for their quality, more their price advantage. They arne't bad springs however. They aren't like arospeeds, which are just ...
