Re: Changed engines from a 97 to a 91 wont start (solved)
hgallegos915: I dont know if it where a timing problem or not, I took the distributor out, changed the spark plug wires and put it back in. The engine seems to be mutch beter now, however it still seems to be lacking some power becouse it still sudently givs more power out. I think I need to just fi...

Re: Starting problems
This is just a gues and may not be right. I had a similar problem to this a few years ago, but my engine would also die (on rear ocations) when I was driving and put it in idle. It also wouldent start when warm. I found the problem to be a hole (or diconected, cant remember) vacum hose near the air ...

Re: Changed engines from a 97 to a 91 wont start
Ok so I've changed over the distributor like marcdh said (thanks :D ) and it starts, the clutch pedal broblem also got solved by airing it. But when i started it it ran fine, went for a test drive and there were a massive power loss and it were stalling (dont know if it's the right word). Seemed lik...

Re: Changed engines from a 97 to a 91 wont start
Hi hgallegos915, I'm not sure what the difrence is with the OBD1 and the OBD2 I would recon it's the alternator like marcdh said, cant say about the sensors. Problem is that in Norway, as far as I have managed to find out, all the engines ranging from 91 to 98 came with OBD1.

Changed engines from a 97 to a 91 wont start (solved)
Hi, becouse of oil consumption I changed my engine. My old one was a 97 1.8 and the one I put in is a 91 1.8. I know there are some minor difrences but I cant imagen that there should be a problem. Now my problem is this; Everything I can think of is hooked up and pluged in. The car crankes and turn...

Compression numbers, Are they bad, possibe bad pistons?
So, I did a compression test to se what i got. I'll do a recap first; I'm struguling with an abnormal use of engine oil, I've replaced head gasket and valve stems w/new seals. So the nubers: 150, 130, 145, 145, 170, 165 psi starting from 1 through 6. so all is fairly low. I did pour a smal amut of e...

Re: Just a got an MX3!
Not sure if this help is going to help you, but i'll give a try. I had that same problem you have once. It starts nice when cold and then the Rev drops to low, making the car sort of jumpy when it gets warm. Im guesing you need to give alittle ekstra gas when you start driving from a standstill so t...

Re: Legal Engine Swaps in Europe
Here is an update for those who want it. I went down to the DMV (Biltilsynet) to ask what it took to do a legal swap to the KLDE or other. From what i understod this would be neer inposible, he said that I would need to get some papers from Mazda or Germany (?) the stated how much weight the engine ...

Re: Legal Engine Swaps in Europe
Altho I rely vant this question answered, it is no rush since I just bought 1 1/2 new MX-3(s).
I bought them for the engine, one with and one without. I'll try to fix them so i get 2 working perfectly and scrap what i'll have left of the last one.

Re: Legal Engine Swaps in Europe
Well the sad thing is that in Norway (and i gues some other countrys), the car has to be approved with how much HP it can handle. This is why I need some sort of document preferably by mazda, wich i'm told they dont give out, thet states that the car and it's parts has been approved for a specefic H...
