Mazda OEM front bearing part number?

Anyone know the front wheel bearing OEM part number? I only got 60K out of Timkens (don't buy them). I'm going OEM this time since the first set lasted 160,000 miles with no problems. I keep seeing the parts on parts diagrams online, but they look much smaller than the ones I had installed a few yea...

Re: Frayed throttle cable

Its not a throttle cable its called a kickdown cable its connected to the throttle body and runs to the transmission on automatics. You can mend it using a cable crimp connection for 1/8" wire any hardware supply store will have them and should it break off and you can't or won't remove and re...

Re: Frayed throttle cable

 @ don't get married. You say Throttle cable, but then say Transmission... We may need pics of what you're talking about. If it's the throttle cable, you can get one for a few dollars at a bike shop, Teflon coated, even. I've never done it, but I'm sure it would be easy to replace. Now I'm thi...

Re: Frayed throttle cable

Yeah, the transmission has a throttle cable that tells the control valve body how to modify shifting per the throttle position. Look where the TWO throttle cables connect to the throttle body and you'll see the adjustable cable that goes to the transmission. Between the two adjustment screws and the...

Frayed throttle cable

I noticed tonight when I started going over the car for basic "routine" maintenance that the throttle cable to the transmission is frayed. It doesn't look like it's got long before it breaks. So, it will sit until I can fix it. I looked in the shop manual, and it looks like it ain't going ...

Re: Stock shocks

I'm going to park it in the garage for a while and start tearing the rear suspension down. There's a loud popping sound up at the top. I suspect it could possibly just be so loose that it sounds broken. Thanks for the feedback. I'll report back in when I start breaking it down.

Re: Stock shocks

Well, I guess I should've been a little more specific. I was told when my jaw dropped a few years back when I asked Mazda how much replacement shocks were that they have a dual stage oil and gas cylinder, or something like that, and that they were uncommonly technically advanced for this type of car...

Stock shocks

I apparently just lost my passenger side rear shock. The car has 215,000 on it anyway so I'm going to get some new shocks. I know $150/strut/shock for the OEMs is ridiculous, but I love the way the suspension is balanced and am afraid of getting too stiff, too light, etc., which would be even more o...

Re: CEL 17 and 24 on an empty tank. Did I run it out of gas?

I made three trips to the gas station with my 2 gallon gas can, jacked it level, primed it again, and it started. I don't know why I still get surprised by how technical this car can get, but it does surprise me that running out of gas can be such a pain. At least it's not a diesel. Oh well, just pl...

CEL 17 and 24 on an empty tank. Did I run it out of gas?

Hi, I forgot that i was very low on fuel and let my girlfriend start the car, leaving it to come inside, while it was on an incline which makes the light come on when it doesn't on level ground. I came outside and the key was on but the car wasn't running. I assumed that it ran out of gas. It will n...

You need to push the gas pedal to the floor and start it or the gas is going to foul the oil and your new plugs. I just had the same thing happen yesterday. Now I have to change the oil again. Definitely smell your oil for gas. Floored, mine started immediately while badly flooded. Did you read the ...

I had a problem with that cable. Because it's laying on the damn engine it heats up and destroys the inside of the rubber that the cable rubs against. Mine's a '93, so after 15 years the cable was dead and causing the throttle to stick. I had an overheating problem because of it for some time before...

Everyone will ignore you until you at least check if it has spark, fuel, etc., and report back. About your car's looks, it looks really good. Would be sick with some rims. But I have one strong suggestion for you. Spend $10 on a bottle of 3M Clear Plastic Cleaner and Polish and clean your headlights...

I'm guessing you're a young guy because ABS used to be an option on a lot of cars starting in the '80s. It usually would cost $500-$1500. If it isn't lighting up a CEL or causing vibrations or grinding feelings/sounds I wouldn't worry about it.
