I changed the plugs and took it for a long enough drive to get everything as hot as it gets. Amazingly, the CEL went off and there aren't any idling problems now even though it had to be started with the pedal floored and it idled horribly at startup. I need someone who knows how the EGR valve works...

I put the old solenoid valves on and it still floods. The only thing I can think of is that connecting the EGR valve to the new solenoids might have moved it(the EGR valve) and now it's causing the problem. Aren't cars fun?

OK, I just got it to start, but it's missing and pissed off bad. I floored it when I cranked it and it started fine. Originally, I was replacing the EGR solenoids. I started it with the EGR valve connected to the solenoids and it ran like crap(indicating the EGR valve is most likely shot, to me). It...

Checked them already. I have all of the dash lights, radio, etc, still. I pulled a plug out and it's soaked. I'm fine with buying more, but before I do I'm wondering if anyone knows why it flooded.

That's 16. I have the same problem. Apparently, it's not cut and dry like the codes from newer cars. My EGR valve tested out fine. My mechanic said that my EGR solenoid valves weren't opening and closing so I replaced them. That didn't fix it. I have already replaced the front O2 sensor so all I can...

Fried Something with Diagnostic pin jumped

I forgot I had put a wire in the diagnostic terminal to read the codes and tried to start the car. It won't start now. What might I have blown?

*edit* I have found that this is not a problem for these cars. My problem is the EGR system. Please read on if you know anything about EGR systems.

If the tires are still good, I'd start with a road force balance. Regular balancing usually isn't good enough for today's lower profiles and larger diameters. It took me 5 tries to get my new F150's Bridgestone Revos balanced, and that still isn't perfect, especially at speeds above 70mph. Look spec...

So the only benefit of the 2.5L header is that it's interchangeable with ours, a convenience factor?

My question is: how much of a benefit are the 2.5L headers over the regular v6 headers? I would love to get some headers for this car, especially these Mazda 2.5L ones that I can find at a lot of junkyards in this area, but it will be a hassle to get them installed and I don't have room to myself. E...

I'm in Fairfield Glade next to Crossville. I have a '93 GS ATX with only K&N and 2.25 inch exhaust with generic Turbo muffler in addons, but the rest of the car is almost 100% restored to original and new including everything from the radiator, all suspension parts, axles, tranny, only things le...

ATX won't shift out of 2nd, was shifting fine

Hey all, I was recently driving my GS on a country cruise. I pulled out onto a highway and when shifting up from second the tranny slipped, the engine revved up, and then it went back in second gear. Now it won't shift past second. It was shifting fine all day before this so I seriously doubt it's m...

Help with crankshaft position sensor

Hi, I just had a small tranny leak fixed and when I got my car back it throws a code for the crankshaft position sensor. My first question is: could these idiots driving my car have possible broken something? What happens when you skip a tooth on the timing belt? Suggestions?

be sure to check the oil cooler, where the oil filter goes, for your oil leak. There's a little donut with two gaskets. The gaskets seem too thin on the edges to me, but mine was leaking and got me thinking about them sucking. Maybe they don't actually, but they leaked on mine.

I love knowing that there are 375 hp STis out there. That's scary. And a civic running 1/4 mile in 10 sec? That's freakin crazy. I was wondering if imports would fare best in handling and worst in speed, but pleasantly surprised by comments. mitmaks i love that charger. Do you ever jump it and screa...
