Reading the service engine light with a paperclip

i did the paperclip, and i had a code just one, the service light comes on for exactally two seconds then it blinks 6 times... is that 26? or what? i don't understand the reading of it

That's 16. I have the same problem. Apparently, it's not cut and dry like the codes from newer cars. My EGR valve tested out fine. My mechanic said that my EGR solenoid valves weren't opening and closing so I replaced them. That didn't fix it. I have already replaced the front O2 sensor so all I can do that's related to the EGR system is replace the EGR valve and the other O2 sensor. It runs great other than that code, but only with the air line from the EGR valve to the solenoids disconnected. I have no clue why that is. It was like that when I bought it.
