Re: KLZE/Tranny help
Any ideas as to where that plugs into? I'm sure there's gotta be a spot on the harness or motor somewhere. If we have a general Idea as to where to start looking for where the other plug is for that harness we can atleast look in the right spot. The motor is already in the car and it's dark out by t...

KLZE/Tranny help
Hey everyone, it's been an extremely long time since I've been on here. I sold the mx a while back to a friend and just recently the motor seized on him. No idea why. No leaks, no smoke but was running like poo and boom. Seized on the way to a mechanic. I haven't been able to help him with the new m...

Also, the thread may be old, but unfortunately the problem is still very current. It isn't the motor either. I've thrown out the idea of just swapping another ze instead of tossing money away at parts that may or maynot be broken but unfortunately it's an external problem and nothing to do with the ...

Thanks Justin. I've always suspected that to be a possibility. I really have to get a day to tear into the motor with my buddy. It's hard because for the past year I've been working 6-7 day weeks. My days off don't always coincide with his. Hope everything is well with the MOCA boys. Did you do some...

Well Pat, I sold the car to a really good friend of mine because I didnt' have time to work on it (some 50-70 hr work weeks at the time) and i was getting really frustrated with it. It's running like garbage now and sometimes not running at all. My buddy took it to a local shop and had the timing ch...

I'm chiming in. If you stand infront of the car and look at your engine, you see all your spark plug wires coming out of your valve covers. Follow those wires to the right of your engine and they all plug into a dark grayish, black cover. That is your distributor cap. The whole assembly that cap is ...

HELP!!!! problems blowing disty at 3500rpm?
Sorry I haven't been on in a while. I sold the mx. I did however sell it to a long time friend of mine who thought he could fix my ailling car. It keeps getting worse. For a long time now I had been having the misfire problem so I went and did the Hei/external coil set up. It was set up correctly to...

I'll try that out and see how that works. I''m assuming that you are talking about the rotor hitting the tower that's causing the soot inside the cap. I'll give that a shot. It's cheap enough. Hopefully that's causing the misfire and part of the crazy a-- idle? One could only hope. I'm assuming the ...

Well tonight I jacked up the car and brought cylinder 2 up to tdc. The rotor was no where near the number two ignition wire. I'm wondering how the thing was running at all no less 80mph speeds.. the entire disty cap and rotor were covered in what looked like soot.... I disconnected the internal igni...

I'm in the process of getting ready to move over the next few days so the car is parked because I'm so busy with work and the move.. :( But I'm definately going to go through the wiring. I'll also make sure I disable that ignitor. The car has never done this before wiring this mod. I thought by remo...

I completely removed the coil from the disty. I cut off the post that connects to the coil and i rtv'd the connection at the power tower as well as the point where i cut the post. I am assuming that the three metal prongs that connected to the coil were the internal ignitor that is supposed to be cu...
