Re: Help - Dead MX-3

Wow - surprised someone responded to this thread. It has been over a year since I posted on this one. Anyway, my car is still dead. I took it to a mechanic here and he gave up on it. I was pretty disappointed in the fact that he caused more harm to my car than good. He spliced a bunch of the wiring....

Re: Holy Cow This Car Rocks

When my SOHC MX-3 was working I normally got around 40mpg on the highway.

Re: Engine Died - Again!

Would this be different based on the transmission? I see that it shows (1.6L M/T) at the bottom left of the diagram. I have the auto transmission. The ecu model number is B66T.

Again thanks for your help.

Re: Engine Died - Again!

Will the ECU wiring diagram be the same for the 4 cylinder SOHC as well?

Re: No spark 93 4 cyl HELP

I hope you get it figured out - I have tried everything with my car and no go.

Definitely check your fuses first. Could be your ecu. One guy recommended checking the Crank Angle Sensor.

Re: Engine Died - Again!

The diagram is for a V6 - anyone know where it is on the 4 banger?

Re: Engine Died - Again!

The crank angle sensor in the distributor should be fine since I replaced the distributor. I never heard of the other sensor location. Could you (or anyone) reply with a picture (or diagram) of where this is exactly? If the sensor is gone will this prevent the car from starting? If there is no visib...

Re: Opinions on Mazda 3

I test drove one of the decked out sedans. It handled excellent although a bit underpowered (even with the 2.3). I really like the looks of the car and the price is reasonable. The one thing that holds me back from this car is the safety ratings. They aren't that great when compared to a Civic or th...

Re: Engine Died - Again!

Well, it has been a long time since it died and it still is dead. I took it to a mechanic and they couldn't find the proper wiring diagram for the car. There is no Mazda dealership in town - the closest one is 450kms away. I have tried a new distributer, coil, module, plugs, wires, ecu (2 of them), ...

Re: is a 94 eclipse gsx worht sellin my mx3 for?

If it were me and the price difference is negligable I would definitely get the eclipse. There are probably more mx-3s up here than eclipses. To me this is a no-brainer (as much as I like mx-3s).

Re: Engine Died - Again!

I am thinking that I might have a short or a bad ground causing electrical problems. I do get fuel to the plugs - but no spark. I had this problem before I took it to the shop. I pretty much replaced all the electrical components of my car (thank God for cheap eBay parts) to get it running again (al...
