Re: BPT swap into DOHC write-up
It's going really slow right now. The machinist has'nt even touched my block and it's been with him for 2 months. At the rate he's going, I may take it somewhere else and get my money back. I called JE and the piston's should not take, but 5-7 days to get, unless he just never ordered them. It's rea...

Re: BPT swap into DOHC write-up
Will the power steering pump and AC pump from the 1.6 dohc work with the BPT? The 1.6 alternator works? Also, what fuel pump are you using?

It's a 1.8 turbo four cylinder out of j-spec 323GTX's. 90-94 years with 180hp. Simply put, it can be a bad a-- engine with decent tunning.

Re: need help with my engine
I have a 1.6 dohc, and yes you have an egr valve on yours. It's on the right hand side of you're intake manifold, below the throttle body.

Re: need help with my engine
Egr valve will cause it to idle low, almost to the point of stalling. I had to replace it at 160,000 miles. I would do a tune up first and then check for vacuum leaks. If thats not it, test the egr with a vacuum pump. It's easy.

Re: HELP!!! My car is squeeling like a pig!
Don't tighten the pulley nut. Just above the alternator is a bracket with two bolts. One bolt running across(transverse),and another long bolt going front to back. That's the tensioner. Before you loosen the tensioner you need to find the pivot bolt on the bottom of the alternator. Loosen that first...

Re: a/f gauge...
Have you changed the O2 sensor? I have my air fuel gauge in the factory air vent next to the boost gauge. When warm it should just go back and forth at idle. Also, where did you tap the signal wire from the gauge to?

Re: LIFTERS HeLP!!!
The lifters are about $40 each. If you use a thicker oil, oil treatment, or a can of restore, the ticking will usually stop. I've got the same problem with mine. It's recommended if you replace the lifters, swap the cams out too. I would not replace them unless there broken.

mazdaspeed rear links
How well does the mazdaspeed rear link setup work for the suspension? Before getting this from Corksport, I was wondering if this really makes a difference in cornering. Any opinions, please.

Re: SST?
Are you replacing both or just one bearing?<BR>Just trying to figure out if you need the bearing(s) replaced or not. If it's bad, it'll make a loud roaring noise. A cupped tire will make the same noise.
