Yes. So far took out fuse for sub amp, checked all around the alt. Area and i found my crank position sensor wire was chewed up and burnt right up! !! Now i figure this was shorting out and what caused the smoke in the first place. As im hoping any way so i redid ths harness 2ft long and ran it prop...

thanks today im going out to look for different ideas, ( on a different same topic ) -- about a week and a half ago smoke came from belt from alternator i readjusted the belt tentionor and no smoke etc..

would that mabey affect it , i do have a system installed but correctly installed,

search ebay for hidden antennas or the mazda 6 in roof antenna ? good luck on the project let me know how it goes

Hey mrmazda on our first purple k8 i had same problem here was my solution and it seemed to work so well first i took the existing wire hooking into the back of the stereo took all the antenna wire out got a new wiring kit for antenas from crappy tire and took a 6 inch bmw antenna 30$ at wreckers mo...

Actualy yes ground wires very recently. 6 different 4 gauge wires differnt points and lengths and same time redid ground on transmission and battery negative under the wiper motor aswell. Guess only option is new alternator on pay day. .. But question for ya. . Battery light on wth load.. Eg headlig...

Also possibly take the whole unit out and inspect the inner workings very easy job did mine in 15 minutes knowing what tools i needed 3/8s ratchet 6 inch extention 12 mm or 14 mm bolts before removal make sure to mark it so u know how to reinstall without messing timing up only 2 bolts holding unit ...

Also mike is that whole unit old with new cap?? K834 on the ignition coil possibly if it is a new unit its possible its the wrong one?? I had napa mess my old one up i have a klze so my unit is kf34 hmm still trying to help ya out mike. ...

Do u hear compression in the exhaust note??

if you lived closer i have a 94, 95 , 96 disty for sale other then that, that cap looks like a 94 cap though ignoition coil perhaps-- expensive part on its own though

Ive had car troubles since that night battery died due to alt. Not charging but other then that i still have hopes on my end very soon looking into mega squirt or simalr setup soon need hei mod too
