Re: Who needs power steering when you can have manual.
So now that you've completed your project, and many of us are excited to do this also.....how much time & money would you estimate you spent to do this? I'm not asking for to-the-penny/minute, but just a ball-park estimate to within the hour/hundred dollars or so. I would like to do this to my R...

Re: AC clutch engaging and disengaging RPMs oscillate
Yes, your RPM will drop slightly when your A/C comes on, but then should raise to a slightly higher level and stabilize. As an example, my engine idles at 600rpm with no A/C, when the A/C kicks in, it will drop to about 300-400rpm, then raise to around 800-1000rpm and stabilize there, but it will fe...

OK, I finally found what I hope you're looking for, check out this link. http://www.lloyd1.com/theman/protegefaq/transmission.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; This is where I got most of my info, and covers both the F-series and G-series transmission gear ratios. GL, Vol

Re: Fuel Consumption on the 4 cyl
I see nothing controversial about inflating tires to their maximum pressure. The tire, not the car, determine the maximum pressure, and that's printed right on the sidewall. Inflating to the maximum just makes sense. Some people are saying that by inflating the tire beyond what the auto manufacture...

Re: 5sp Transmission Upgrade ?
If you're looking to reduce your engine RPM at highway speeds, the best method would be to swap to a 'taller' 5th gear. There is a walk through available (I think on a protege forum) that shows how to do it. I have also researched this, and I believe that the transmission from an early 90s protege w...

Re: Fuel Consumption on the 4 cyl
I also use the EOC method (engine off coast), and it helped me improve my mileage to 38.7mpg with snow tires installed. Now that I have my summer tires back on, I'm hoping to get just over 40mpg. These numbers are in mixed driving, at about a 50:50 ratio. If you're not comfortable with the EOC metho...

Re: [GI/WTT] GS for 40 MPG car
I'm getting almost 40mpg with my stock RS. If you wanted to change the diff. in your transfer case to a lower final drive ratio, you could probably get around 40mpg in your car.

At this point it doesn't matter, as I have been informed that any and all extra money will be going to remodeling our house. Looks like no fun car parts for a while.

Thanks for updating the prices and all. Sadly, it's out of my price range.
Best of luck with the sale though.

Re: Mx3 Hitch/BIke rack
I have a 19" mountain bike, and just fold the back seat and pop off the front tire and it fits under the hatch just fine. If you can find the clips to get a Yakima rack to fit, I have the cross pieces and towers that I'll sell you for $125, but like fowljesse, I expect it to dent your roof. A p...

How much are you asking?
What else do I need to make this work with my stock B6 DOHC?
Shipping to 80501 zip?
Also, you forgot the [] part, so you will prolly get told to fix your topic.

plastic zip-ties help keep the belt in place on the cams too. It made lining up the crank much easier for me.

The ScanGauge (either 1 or 2) will not work in a '95 or older MX-3, unless it happens to be OBD2. ScanGauge only works for OBD2 cars. There is a product that can work in some OBD1 cars called SuperMID, but it is custom made, and no longer in production. I don't know if the MX-3 injector flow/timing ...

Re: dang memory!
You have no idea how badly I want to tell you that $10 is far too expensive for that memory, and that I got someone to pay me $15 to take some just like that off their hands. Of course it's total BS, but the temptation is overwhelming.
