Just unplug it??? Hey, I'll pretty-much try just about anything at this point.
So supposidly, the ZE ecu should correct this.....do you guys mean to tell me that I paid $400 for a reprogrammed Corksport ecu for nothing??????

Re: Major idling problems + running rich
It may very well be the distributor on yours....when I had the K8 in mine, I think the distributor was replaced twice, once with me and another before I owned the car.

Re: Major idling problems + running rich
Thanks for the link, last time I checked, I didn't have a code 10, but ya never know.
Cold starts in the morning are actually at a semi-low idle (around 800-1000rpm) but then after about 5 minutes goes up to about 1500 and then after another 5 minutes or so, goes back down to 800rpm and after all...

Major idling problems + running rich
Hey guys, it's been a while since I've posted and that's only cause I've been having way too much fun in my KLZE equiped MX-3.
But I'm having some major idling issues. First of all, let me tell you what my setup is: KLZE engine w/curved neck ZE intake manifold, 5-speed and a reprogrammed Corkspor...

Re: Dynoing tomorrow (9/7/02)
The KL-ZE with the stock 1.8L intake setup is definately not the way to go....honestly, it's one of the most restrictive stock setups that I've seen....way too many sharp bends. So, I'm hoping that with an intake setup will expand my hp curve a bit more. I'm also hoping that it will also "lean-...

Re: Dynoing tomorrow (9/7/02)
Are you asking for an actual number or an estimate? Basically, I got the car up to normal operating temperature and then dynoed it and letting it cool down a bit between pulls.

Re: Dynoing tomorrow (9/7/02)
Well, thanks for the tip, but I didn't get to try that since I didn't get a chance to check back before the dyno.
Here's what I got for numbers with a basically stock setup: 166whp @ 6,000rpm; 152wtq @ 4,600rpm
not bad I guess.....now I just gots to ...

Re: Dynoing tomorrow (9/7/02)
That goes without saying....the point of my question was to possibly obtain any "tuning tips" that someone has already achieved from previously dynoing there ZE setup, not "cheating hp" such as:
advancing the timing a bit or increasing tire pressure, etc...

Dynoing tomorrow (9/7/02)
Any tips on squeeking-out a couple more pony's from the KL-ZE with a basically stock setup besides my rep ecu and 2.5" full exhaust.
Didn't have enough time to do an intake setup, so, I'll just dyno it again after the intake.
thanks!

Re: how big exhaust pipe is too big?
I'm running a 2.5" from the horrible stock headers back with a custom high flow cat. I just can't justify spending $500 on the hot shot headers.....that's half the price of the engine.

Re: Coil question, swap related
I'm using the 1.8 distributor. I was told to use that one because I have a Corksport ecu upgrade.
