how big exhaust pipe is too big?

I was in pricing exhaust and buddy said that 3" wasn't enough back pressure for my motor

I now run 2 1/4" with no cat and a tunable pipe. the car runs faster with the baffle out [img]shrug.gif"%20border="0[/img] hhhmmmmmmmmmmI am trying to lean my car out as much as possile will this help .3" + pacesetter headers [img]shrug.gif"%20border="0[/img]

I'm running a 2.5" from the horrible stock headers back with a custom high flow cat. I just can't justify spending $500 on the hot shot headers.....that's half the price of the engine.

im going to run sunday with stock manifolds and then try another day with the headers on to have a stock / header comparo!
