Re: Sticky Shifter Cable for Automatic
There is an adjustment nut on the auto shifter cable, if the shifter wont go all the way into park, the corrosion on the cable might be stopping it from fully engaging. Just tighten up the cable a bit, lube it all and see if it'll start in park, I had the same problem and that fixed it.

Re: Water inside
If you have a source for compressed air, just give it a few blasts down the drain tubes, that should clear it.

Those pics were from a 2002 Taurus atx, so mtx mounts might be different, but I couldn't see them differing very much.

Re: I just saw the strangest thing...
There used to be 3 around here, 2 of which had BPs, then they all disappeared within a year of each other.

The Duratec 3.0l came in the mazda 6 and tribute, so you can get mazda valve covers instead of ford ones to cover your tracks if there were legal issues. Unless you get a cop that really knows cars, they wouldnt suspect anything. I dug these pics up of the mounts. Driver's side trans mount: http://i...

Re: most poweful engine swap mazda tribute/mpv 3.0 AJ-DE eng
If a klze isnt enough power, you could always go with some form of forced induction. You'd also need a standalone system to manage your additional spark and fuel demand along with all the normal hardware. Going with the Duratec isnt impossible, they are not much heavier than the klze and pretty clos...

Re: okay guys i need everyones help that put in a KLZE !
As far as your 2 connections by the coolant neck and only seeing 1, you have a different coolant neck from the k8, they came with 1 and 2 coolant sensors. Either you can swap in the old neck from the k8, or drill and tap the hole for the 2nd sensor. A klze will run on a k8 ecu, but not very well, a ...

Re: 16x8 Wheels installed?(225/50-16 rubber)
Worst case if you do find some rubbing, go get some washers to slide onto the studs. Use them as temporary spacers and just add a washer to each stud until you have enough space, then measure how much space the washers take up and that's roughly the spacer size you need.

Re: RE: Electric MX-3
I'd be concerned about reserve time and how they would handle deep cycling. He is using 18 x 8v batteries, the larger amount of batteries and running at 144v should help, but i'd feel safer with AGM batteries instead. He cleaned up the look under the hood to make the electronics look less like a maz...

Clean install, good work. Range could be more if he put the car on a diet though, I see alot of unnecessary weight and accessories.

Re: Idle Problem
If adjusting the TPS does not work, try adjusting your ignition timing by loosening the bolts on your distributor with the ten and gnd jumpered and slowly move it back and forth, see if there is any improvement. Tighten the bolts back down, go for a quick drive and see if it gets better or worse. Yo...

Re: Cutting out high rpm/MAJOR backfire
Just check your timing marks first, make sure at the crank it is good and you can also try adjusting your ignition timing by moving the disty back and forth. By the sound, you might need to advance it slightly. Make small adjustments until you find the sweet spot.
