Re: Need help on swapping ecu's
disconnect neg on battery, disconnect ecu, plug in new ecu and VAF, reconnect battery. Start and run... the ecu will start pulling data from sensors that it needs and will begin storing the information. If there is an issue with a missing sensor or faulty sensor (or a direct short in wiring) that th...

Re: Axle change, now probelms
I assume you're talking drivers side. Was the little wire clip in place on the end of the axle when you installed it? Did you push the new axle all the way in? Either theres no clip or the clip isn't "clipped" into the differential. That's the only way the CV joint can move like that. +1 ...

Re: help, what is this noise?
It could also be the throwout bearing (you can see here: http://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge/clutches_etc.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). It only engages the pressure plate (spins) when you press the clutch pedal in. If the bearing is worn, you can tell. They have a t...

Re: Axle change, now probelms
That part of the shaft shouldn't move, period. there should be an intermediate shaft that comes out of the tranny and bolts to the block to avoid movement. The bracket that bolts to the block houses a bearing and the cv joint will connect to the intermediate shaft and go into the hub. If the shaft i...

Re: need clutch help in southern, georgia. slipping badddd
So your options would include getting an impact gun or buying 3/4" drive sockets and huge breaker bars because these axle nuts can be on there pretty good ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
Of course, if your neighbor is a farmer and has tools to work on his equipment, he may have what you need![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

Re: need clutch help in southern, georgia. slipping badddd
the car I had sat for two years without being driven and one zip with my Ingersol Rand impact gun and those axle nuts spun right off.
Impact gun is almost a necessity with our cars (for the bolts that are stuck and you don't want to break)

Re: Steering turning always to right...
How heavy is your passenger??? The extra weight could cause your car to tip to that side more, thus amplifying your problem (poor alignment). Sounds like the front camber is out... How long did you drive the car before having the second alignment done? If it was quite a while, you could have worn th...

Re: Rotor/Brakepad replacement (first time)
WHOA!!! The front calipers are one piece! The entire caliper bolts to the mounting tabs on the spindle. The skinny little spring pins hold the rods that mount the pads. The rods may be seized in the caliper but on a pinch you can bend the springs to get them out. Then you can drive the rods out. Wi...

Re: need clutch help in southern, georgia. slipping badddd
PB Blaster FTW... Let it sit for days if need be and spray it every few hours. You might be able to gain access to the tranny just by disconnecting the hub assembly altogether and keeping the axle in it. It just might be easier. (I got away with removing everything but the lower ball joint on my pas...

Re: will 5 speed transmisson out of a mx-6 work into a V6 MX
Let's not forget patience! You'll have an advatage of a better final drive gear with the mx6 tranny (should you ever choose to swap to a 2.5L :)) Make sure when you get the rear tranny mount that you get the bracket that bolts to the tranny also. The auto bracket is too narrow. The tranny mount that...

Thanks for your comment John. The switch plate was made from a piece of aluminum (on the thicker side) and was then attached to the plastic (the "filler" area under the radio). It was very easy to do actually.
Then I painted it a silver metallic to match the interior.
