im my stock K8 did like 200 on a back road by airdre and i was at like 6200RPM but my car wouldent go any faster no rev limiter or anyhting, lol i think the wind resistance was too mcuh for the little moter. Now i got my ZE so we will see how she flys. In my buddys 323 hatchback BPT we did 155mp/h, she was huging the road real tight.

You aren't trying to say you went 200mph in a stock MX-3 GS are you? Hitting 200mph in a MX-3 would take like a massively turbod 2.5L V6 and a really high gearing ratio with and extra gear along with pure insanity or a death wish.

haha come on custom rookie mistake, he lives in calgary...thats 200 KPH

I had the POSRS up to 125 with the help of a hill and that was with 160k on her lol...

I will have the ZE soon enough and will definitly top her out in 5th...which means roughly 142....anyway for the people that have gotten above 142...of course it's possible one, the mx6 tranny will go slightly faster...what do you guys say about 147-8 for a top speed on the mx6...and also I could get up to 142, crest a hill and clutch down it still speeding up...easily could get 150 even 160 out of the mx.....

At the Ottawa Mazda Meet, I had the Mx-3 at 220Km/h, which is about 136mph. She was almost topped out, I was around 6700-6800rpms, than they backed off a bit, but the Rx-7's, for what they said, top out around 235. The car felt great and amazingly smooth and handled well, like it was designed to go that fast. When the new tranny's done, it'll have the Mx-6 ratio of 4.11:1, so it will give me a few more kmh/mph.

I was just thrown off by the other speed being in "mp/h". I wonder if anyone ever has or ever will make a 200mph MX-3 :2thumbsup: :driver: .

the funniest thing bout the thread goin for 4 years is it only had like 7 replies, then it sat idle for 3 years until someone posted. i was like 13 when this thread started. lol.

i got my stock 94 MX-3 1.6 5 speed up to 100. but im still to young to afford speeding tickets, so i manage to resist the urge seeing how fast my car will actually go.

lol I hit 145mph with my old tire setup. With my new ones I bet when the speedo or tranny is maxing out at 145 I am really going 155-160 at least. I know at 60 I am really going 65.... :)

Plus I think the new kia tranny I am putting in maxes out even higher than 145.... :) :) :)

some day i am gonna try the top speed .
Here in Portugal, we have the perfect "racetrack" for that - Vasco da Gama bridge.

3 lanes, 17km's allways straight ... with a small downhill in the begging

If a Citroen Saxo VTS 16v fuel cut's his 5th there @ 222kmh , a 1.8 V6 should top that, right ? This one thing bug's me ... my car has a fuel cut off ( at least at lower gear's ) of about 7200 rpm. Is this normal ?

gonna try and make a movie of it, so i can latter take pictures from the movie

I must say i got there realy quick...v6 and 4 cyl rocers havent been able to keep up yet. I removed that speed limiter... before it woulodnt go past 110 and would take forever to get there..but after taking that wire out it doesnt stop. I dont have enough road to see the full top speed.
How can i do the same ?
I dont know if i have got a speed limiter, but if it's something safe i want to try that .
and hopefully before next friday, since i think that the top speed test is that day

remove pin M1 i believe? do a search i had posted but i missplaced the post lol.. make sure you dont look at the diagram for the bp.. alot of people poisted that thinking it was the v6 ecu. If you look at shop manial.. find the pin for ecu speed sensor... chop that one.
