Re: Heater acting funny
Thanks for the replies.
In the on-line shop manual when it says "check for continuity between terminals of the fan switch" or "check for continuity between the terminals for the resistor" what does that mean exactly?
[ January 07, 2002: Message edited by: OverDrive ]

Heater acting funny
Hi folks.
I no longer get hot air at the highest setting (4 for more air). If I set it at 3 it works most of the time. Also, at the 4 setting I hear a little noise (tinney rattle) coming from the passenger side vent.
Thanks for your time.

Engine dies out when oil cap is pulled off ++
Hi folks. The car is a 94 GS Auto with 80,000 kls. Recent work includes new alternator/belt, spark plugs, rotor, distributor cap, Engine flush, replaced tranny oil.
Is this normal? If I have the car running and pull off the oil cap the engine just dies.
Also, I'm noticing a couple noises lately....

Re: No Power, Alternator
Thanks for the thought...but the recall does not apply where I live.
I will say that anyone doing this job should know that it is easier done from the top. You have to take out the fans and the plastic covers and bring the alternator out on the opposite(drivers) side. It is the only spot which all...

Re: No Power, Alternator
Just to update.
We tested the alternator with a different battery. When we start the car and release one battery cable the engine quits; if we keep the revs up high the engine will not quit but will run quite rough. We checked the voltage with the battery disconnected and there is about 11 volts c...

Hi folks,
I'm running a 1994 V6 with air conditioning.
For about 1 week or so I detected a humming/whining noise that seemed to come from the area around the alternator and drive belt, well the car was completely dead today, I got a jump but it wouldn't hold the charge for more than 10 minutes....

Re: Fuel filter
Well folks, my friend who's a mechanic, tried in vain to locate the fuel filter. We took the intake boot off, checked every spot within sight and no fuel filter to be found.
He got underneath the car to try and trace the fuel line to the fuel pump as well hoping to give a better indication of wher...
