Heater acting funny

Post by OverDrive »

Hi folks.
I no longer get hot air at the highest setting (4 for more air). If I set it at 3 it works most of the time. Also, at the 4 setting I hear a little noise (tinney rattle) coming from the passenger side vent.
Thanks for your time.

Thanks for the reply. I was afraid it may be the heater core....big $$$$ to repair from what I understand.

Yeah... the heater core is really expensive. It costs $500 CDN for a new heater core itself... aside from the labour charges! I know... I had to get mine replaced!....
But your problem sounds like it may be the heater controls.... something to do with the switch.
~Dean

Thanks for the replies.
In the on-line shop manual when it says "check for continuity between terminals of the fan switch" or "check for continuity between the terminals for the resistor" what does that mean exactly?
[ January 07, 2002: Message edited by: OverDrive ]
