I think maybe I'm just trippin like I'm placeboin lol..but I was thinking maybe that might had something to do with it. I had the same thing happen to me..one thing I want to point out is that your rpm gauge is activated by how many times your disty is outputing per min..if your rpms are dropping to 0 and you're still moving then your engine is not getting spark. I shelled out 350 I think to Mazda to have a brand new...

Re: RPM's drop abruptly to sometimes 0 and loss of power wh
Hey yeah..thanks alot...I test drove my car right after and it seemed to run fine the entire 20mi. I drove it. I figure that it will start acting up eventually since I know that the disty in our cars are prone to failing. I better start saving for a new disty. Another thing I failed to mention was w...

RPM's drop abruptly to sometimes 0 and loss of power wh
I did do a search for this problem but I just wanted to make sure that my symtoms are normal for a bad dissty? So I was doing about 85mph on the highway in Dallas and then my rpms dropped to near 0 for a split second and the car jerked as it lost power...Now I know that my car couldn't of gone all t...

Re: Leaks in the head gasket???
Hey man sorry to hear about your bad luck... Well my first MX-3 had a busted head gasket too. It does sound like it's you gasket. Does your car smoke white smoke at all or over heat??? If so these are really good signs that your car is having a head gasket problem. One thing you could try is somethi...

Re: help me please
I don't even use my dimmer switch anymore besides just to sit in the dash so there won't be a void in the dash. Since I've gotten my indiglo gauges, I got a small piece of wire and ran it from the top right and botttem right pins from the connector switch and that makes all the lights default to ful...

Re: Enigine Stalls if you abrubtly hit gas????
Thought I might add that even after the $55 diagnosis and the $165 fuel pump... My car STILL runs like $hit. I'm so pissed-off at them for misdiagnosising my car. They had said my fuel pressure was nothing and that it was my fuel pump to blame. So I spent much of my time today replacing that and it ...

Re: Enigine Stalls if you abrubtly hit gas????
Hey Hank...Well the o2 sensor I replaced was a bosch 11027 part number. They had given me that one because they said it was a universal for the 92 model protege engine like groharlem had said. They were almost exactly $18 like he had said too.

Re: what is this????
Yep thats part of your evap system...it's really just something to help out with the enviornment. When you shut off your engine it sends unused fuel vapors to the charcoal canister and holds them there until you start your car again and then it releases them back into the engine where they are burne...
