kf15 uses a maf not a vaf, the kf15 ecu is the for the lantis type r version of the kfze (straight neck intake manifold square runners (doesnt fit in mx3) and kl31 cams) but it wont work with the je50 according to my buddies in malaysia the kf01 will run it just fine the ecu will adjust. Well then ...

sorry, but you'll need a detailed picture (not a forum blah blah) to tell me this. The heads on KF-ZE's are K8-1A1 & K8-101 And the ''K8 like'' (Type R) IM isn't squarre port at all. Here is a lantis type r. There is a pic of the engine there. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Cars/Mazda...

I bet the engine has always used conventional oil. Switching to synthetic oil on a high mileage engine will often result in what happened to you.

Different tranny fluids make a big difference. I have experience with redline mtl and syncromesh and the syncromesh wa...

Change all your shifter bushings and go to your local gm dealership and get 3 quarts of gm syncromesh. The one i got from the dealership was actually called ac delco syncromesh(which is the same thing). Drain your old tranny fluid and put that in there, give it a few weeks or so to work and then enj...

Well this is an mx-3 forum so most people will tell you to drop a ze in your mx-3. I say go for the gsr. I sold my mx-3 and got an 00 gsr and have not regretted it at all. And believe it or not, a gsr integra where i live is way more rear then an mx-3. I have not seen another gsr since i got mine.

Take it to a body shop to see if the frame is worth straightening. As for the head gasket, thats a good reason for a ze swap.
