A small update...After emptying the whole 40 litres of 98 fuel I subjectively find no performance gain and a small (coincidence?) economy boost (about 15-20 kilometers).
Today I refilled with 98 again, we shall see if this was not a coincidence

hi again. New question: Does anyone know what is the speaker make? Are those no name or maybe someone has information about the producer. I just know that those are 25 W speakers. I intend to buy Alpine 9845 head unit or CLARION DXZ558RMP (haven't decided yet which one, I do owe old cassette Alpine ...

I think I am going to leave the idea with 98 octane fuel... The price has reached 1.1 Euro

V6 chip tuning

Hi there,

What is the max gain you can get with a chip tuning on our Mx-3?
Did anyone with a completely stock Mx-3 V6 try that and could share the results?
Is it worth it?

Thanks

I don't think we lost the low end power, if yes then not too much. For the most time when I overtake cars, I usually do it on the fifth gear...no need to reduce to lower one's  I do consider switching back to my old, stock muffler cause of the kick. The only thing that keeps me with my curr...

I know exactly how u feel.

Look at it this way, tuning the smallest V6 in the world is a bigger challange...and more expensive though...but the hell, 160 bhp is in the reach, not saying more if u drop a turbo...

Ok here is another question, do you think it is a good idea to put 4 speakers of the same type and size to the rear and back (for example 4 60 W RMS with tweeter embedded in the axis) or for example woofers to the rear and others to the front?

No more hard kick when accelerating...

All of you V6 owners probably love those magic moments, when u reach 4 k rpms and feel the "V-tec" like kick (not as strong as vtec but still nice). Well I had this feeling when I had my standard exhaust with standard rear muffler on... Those days are gone, from the moment I bought my Mazd...

Did you have any trouble fitting those 6.5 inch speakers u bought?
All standard round 6.5 inch speakers should fit?
Could you give me photos of speakers you had no trouble with fitting?

Thanks

Thunder, you should easily pass 300 miles, cause 1.6 dohc in stock has lower fuel consumption then the V6 by an average of 1 - 1.5 liter.

Take care

Thunder, two things: 1) My V6 does not have a fuel reserve light as well. This is funny, cause it has reserve ligth of front "sprinklers" and no fuel reserve light  Those 293 miles I told you, was the distance that my car stoped after I drained the tank completely waiting till the l...

Hi there, Let me revive this topic a little bit. I have been using 95 octane neste in (european regular) fuel in my '97 Mx-3 V6 for a long time, and ever since I remember, was always getting 470 kilometers from the full tank in spring-summer (292 miles) and about 400 kilometers (248 miles) from the ...

Mx-3 V6 97 factory speakers size and brand

Hi guys, Can anyone tell me what is the standard size of factory front and rear speakers (in inches or milimeters better). I checked and front are probably 16 mm, but I am not sure if rear is 13 or 16 mm too (didn't want to disasemble it). If the subject was covered then sorry, I just got from work ...

The blue car in the background (behind the gate) is the new Nissan Micra, pretty funny looking city car.
