Re: engine idles at 2700 rpm

I may have the same problem. How can you tell if the gasket is on backwards?

Re: Ford 1.8

So you're saying the engine in this car is a 2.5 and not a 1.8.

After 2.5 swap problems

After my American 2.5 swap I can't get rid of the check engine light or straighten out my intermitting idle problems. I've tried changing ECU's with no success. Hold light flashes along with idling problems when using 2.5 ECU. 2.5 ECU is from a 5 speed and my car is automatic. Does that matter? Also...

Re: VAF

Thank you so much for your help. It's where I thought it was but everyone kept telling me that was the mass air flow sensor. Again thanks for your help.

Re: VAF

OK, I really need some help here. I have completed the 1.8 to 2.5 swap in my 92 MX-3 and have already changed the ECU and I'm trying to change out the VAF but can't locate it. It's not listed in the online shop manual. All I see is MAF in manual.

2.5 Engine Swap

We need help!!!! Just completed a 1.8 to a 2.5 engine swap in my 92 MX-3 GS. Now we can't get it to idle correctly. Looking thru the BB I see other post that say you need to replace the ECU and VAF to complete swap. What is VAF? Is it the same as MAF (mass air flow sensor)?
