Hey Ryan, try putting some lubricant into the cable housing by first disconnecting the cable from the tranny-in any case, check out the online service manual..I hope this has helped some...Manny

Hey axcess, you've hit the nail on the head. Just adjust the idle screw until you're in at 750rpm's[+ or - 50] and you won't end up buying a new battery like I had to do yesterday..Manny

The BPT engine was installed in the Protege during the'90-94 [or thereabouts] model year; I think that it was a Japan specific engine but I'm not too sure***Manny

In response to someone else's previous post, I mentioned that when you hit the brake pedal, you're drawing vacuum for the brake booster which causes the drop in RPM's. I hope this answers your question.....Manny
