Re: BP, BPT

1.8L DOHC 4 banger out of a Protege or Escort GT. The BPT is its turbo charged brother from over seas. BP's make about 125hp(i think) and the BPT's make about 180 hp stock. Thease motors have been taken up to over 450 hp modified and can do about 300-325 on stock internals. Check out my site in the ...

Re: engine swap: specific questions

If you dont mind a beat one go to Copher bros. its a "you pull it" lot so bring tools. I wouldnt reccomend getting your motor there but for smaller parts its a good deal (can you say 39.95 for a tranny? I can :) ). Just take the bayside down to 118th(like 2 lights past Ulmerton) and bang a...

Re: engine swap: specific questions

Yeah the A/C will bolt up, just dont disconnect anything when you take the motor out. Unbolt the compressor and let it hang there untill you put the new motor in. While the 2 engines are out switch the 1.6 compressor bracket onto the 1.8, its much easyer to do this when the engines are out. When you...

Re: Couple questions

Things start bending at about 300-325 hp. The axles are diffrent lengths and you need the axles and jack shaft out of a ProLX / EGT
1st: 3.307
2nd: 1.833
3rd: 1.310
4th: 1.090
5th: 0.795
Reverse: 3.166
Final Drive: 4.105
Hope this helps

Re: cheapest place in US to buy bpt?

Aye, BLT beats GO by $50 but you get no wiring :( if your going to go with the GTX ECU I would sugest "go motors" but if you have another plan BLT is the way to go. Another good place to try is Nippon motorsthey usualy have BPT's in stock and at $995 its not TOO steep.
