95 1.6 dropping a cylinder

My 95 1.6L seems to be randomly dropping a cylinder, both at speed and at an idle. It lasts for 5-10 seconds and then full power is restored for 2-3 minutes. You can feel it drop out at highway speeds, like it just lost its power. Then it'll kick in again and off you go. If it drops out when stopped...

Re: Who engineered mx3 Body( Dodge viper Vs. Mx3 )

I've been kind of thinking that the Del Sol looks a lot like a MX-3 without the hatch, from a profile shot anyway.

Ow! I broke off a nipple!

While I was replacing my radiator this weekend, I managed to break off the little vacuum nipple on the side of the air box. I've plugged the line for now and it seems to be running ok. What is that line for? Perhaps I should have left it open since it just feeds into the airbox which is open. This i...

D'oh. I saw the cap, but I didn't even think to try to pull it off. Don't I feel silly.

Rear tie-bar removal

I found a GS at the local junkyard that still had the rear tie bar, so I want to grab it for my RS. However, the entire bolt spins as I try to take the nuts off. I don't want to clamp down on the threads to hold the bolt from spinning but I can't find any other place to hold it. For you guys with mo...

Re: Hi ,new type MX-3 emblems

Just this morning, I was thinking about putting a new Mazda badge over my hatch lock (since it doesn't work anyway), and then Bam!, here it is. Very nice. I think I might just have to do that. I'm might also switch the front emblem, or totally de-badge it since I've got a bit of rust starting in the...

Re: Are my springs toast?

The frame. So while the wheel it hanging there, I can grab it and compress the springs upward by hand.

Finally own an MX-3

Hi All, Finally, after wanting one for 15 years, the planets aligned and I found myself with a '95, 1.6L Auto in my driveway. While I would have preferred the 1.8 manual, MX's are so rare around here that I wasn't going to be picky. It's for my wife anyway, but I still get to play with it. I've been...

Are my springs toast?

I just picked up a '95, 1.6L a couple weeks ago and have been in the process of bringing it up to snuff (ball joints, tie rod ends, fluids, belts, etc). All going easy enough so far. This is my first MX-3, so I'm pretty green on some of the particulars. Is it normal to be able to compress the rear s...
