Ow! I broke off a nipple!

Post by WrongWay »

While I was replacing my radiator this weekend, I managed to break off the little vacuum nipple on the side of the air box. I've plugged the line for now and it seems to be running ok. What is that line for? Perhaps I should have left it open since it just feeds into the airbox which is open. This is in a '95 RS, by the way.

That is where the prc solenoid vents to atmosphere. The vaccum line doesn't have to be connected to the air box to get atmospheric air, but you should plug the hole in the air box as it is after the air filter.

without it you may develop idling issues. Not bad but it may go up and down, up and down.
